I noticed this free play on CV shaft, this side has more play than other. I don't think it's causing any issues at least none that I noticed.

Is this actually normal or at least as normal as it can be if there don't appear to be any noticable issues?

P.S. Tire doesn't move in video, I believe it "image stabilization" artifact.

Some movement is normal. Actually for these trucks, it seems they have “more than usual” moment and are still considered Normal.

Yours looks like it has much more than “normal”. (Sorry)
I’d do the ECGS Bushing and a new seal.

Here is a link to about ”normal” movement.
It does seem the amount of play Varys from truck to truck.
Yours looks more than most I’ve seen.

Oh well... I guess it will be bushing time in future.

Regarding video in other thread - shaky as hell, hard to understand if it's much better than my case.

When I am ready to do the job, I'll probably ask on local FB groups about the tool (Canada, rental for postage wouldn't work that well from US) or just buy it.

    Cheers!

It was to my great surprise that I found THIS when CV axle came out......

    upload_2020-5-26_20-40-41.jpg

Does anybody know what's the service interval for these ECGS Bushings? Mine if you have seen video 100% ins't producing results they are supposed to. :)

No idea when it was installed, I am 2nd owner and have done about 35k km on it, truck currently has 260k km/160k miles.

If you watched video in first post you have seen what the play looks like on my truck, and short version of it is - bushing will not solve it, it's normal, as the bushing is already installed and play still exists.

    Here is response from ECGS:

The “play” seems about typical and a new one may or may not fix whatever issue you are trying to solve. If the Spider gears have a lot of wear the bushing can only do so much. The bushing is not worn very much the gold hue is the bronze inlay. The black is Teflon the Teflon is only about .003 thick so it hasn’t even wore .003 except for in the high load areas, once worn in then the rest of the bushing will start to support it. It looks about typical.
