What's the best way to cut the 2nd Gen. Composite bed for a bed cage?
Will a Bi-metal hole saw work?
Angle grinder with a cut off wheel?
    What else?

Any of those would work. A jigsaw with a decent blade in it would work. The composite is very similar to fiberglass. Just thick.

If you just need a round hole a hole saw will likely be the cleanest cut , just be aware of whats behind where you are drilling as far as the pilot bit goes

Yeah alright thanks guys! I'm just making a hole for my shocks to go threw. There's nothing on either side.
I just remember drilling it with a drill bit once to put a switch in and it dulled out my bit lol. Then my arms got itchy...

Yeah it's a pain in the ass to cut into dust wise, but just be aware that once you do it there is no going back. Lol.

Lol yeah that's why I was asking. I didn't want to experiment with cutting it I just want to cut it once.

Grinder with a cut off wheel is what I used.

Lots of dust. Wear a mask.

    Unknow
    Many
    hole saw ftw.
Another option is to drill 2 holes side by side for a big oval and cut the 2 inner tabs off. Really easy, not much of a mess and looks clean

I have 2.5" smoothies. What do you guys think a 4" hole saw?

I like that idea too. Maybe I'll buy a 3" or 3.5" hole saw and cut 2 holes side by side and make an oval.

    That's what I did!

I ended up buying a 4" hole saw. I still need to make the hole a bit wider/back a bit, clean it up, finish some welds and paint it. It's done, I'm itchty... Time for a shower.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

Looks like it worked out. Nice job! A little semi gloss black paint around the edges will clean it up nice to, if you want.

No, what I thought was the center wasn't the angle I wanted left to right. It would of been to close to the tire 2" and I was worried about it rubbing when it articulates so I pushed everything inward over towards the frame and used a sawzall.

You may want to bring your shocks in towards the center of the be a little more. It will give you more room for wheel articulation and allow you or a future owner to switch over to bypass'
