20171114_155007.jpg 20171114_155014.jpg I got winter tires & rims thrown in when I bought my truck because my cheap ass wouldn't of been able to save for a full set in 4 months, now that I've picked them up and put them on I hate them with a passion.

Was just gonna plasti-dip them but figured I'd see if more creative minds might have some ideas or opinions on something to do besides just straight black.

I've followed enough threads to know half you smart-asses are gonna tell me to buy new rims, I appreciate the joke but not an option. I don't have that dirty winter rim money, I spent it all on a damn Tacoma!

I was looking at center caps and switching to black lug nuts as a possibility

I don't think I've seen a blue Tacoma with white rims yet, might have to put some photoshop skills to the test

I painted my winter rims with gloss black rustoleum & was gonna get the center caps, but thought why waste the $.....!! I just painter the end of the axle too.

Tip...Paint them on the truck and use an old deck of cards.....stick the cards between the rim and tire and over-lap them, providing you with 2 1/2 inches of protection from painting the tires....!! Worked for me..

Yup, center cap and a single toned paint job may do the trick...Not much to do to a steel wheel.

Could always match the center caps to your truck color. :notsure:

Any pics of the gloss black? I was leaning towards a more matte black because I've heard the gloss fades quick.

I've used the card trick with tires off the vehicle before, was wondering if the paint getting onto the brakes when you spray them on the truck would cause any problems at all.

Paint them a medium gray hammertone. Paint the outer small lip silver metallic, silver center cap, chrome lug nuts.

Simple, clean, good enough for winter wheels.

They could use some center caps....but am I the only one who likes the look of the stock steel wheels? Simplicity.

No, I never though I'd need pics of those...hehe I doubt it'll fade, but we'll see.

If they fade I'll touch up next fall.

I love steel wheels, but just wasn't a fan of the ones that came on my truck.

I really like the look of my steelies.
Toss on some center caps and clean them w/a rag full of WD40 for the winter.

Also, don't forget, if you go with the center cap, you'll have to put on the summer nuts....with washers...... The "acorn" nuts won't work..!

I've got black chrome acorn lug nuts...!!!!

I don't think they're that bad, honestly. The bigger aesthetic issue for me is that the tires seem a little short for the wheel well, but that could just be the perspective. I'd add some center caps and call it a day. I have the old-school black T100/pickup center caps on mine as opposed to the newer grey plastic ones that came with these wheels. They look tougher and more utilitarian IMO. Painting the wheels white might look good against that blue paint IMO.
