I have no idea where to even put this thread.
Was hoping to see people’s custom gauge clusters/ gauge setups running with swapped engines and such. If there is even anyone with a custom cluster.
Going to start ordering gauges and would like to see how people have theirs layed out in the factory cluster location Or gauges in pods.

I tried the pillar pods they were just to distracting to look at .

I set two gauges on the dash could have gone with 3 .

Held in place with silicone If they need to be removed just a little clean up and one would never know they were there

Went with Mechanical Oil Pressure and Voltmeter.

I have this set up on 4 of my Toyota 4x4`s

You're not planning on hooking up the factory Cluster?

No the factory cluster only has the tach speedo, fuel and coolant. Want 9 gauges in this truck to monitor everything so I’d like to not have gauges spread all over this thing. Also I can’t make the factory tach work with the 4bt.

Edit: these are all the gauges I’m putting in it.
    Boost
    Water temp
    Oil temp
    exhaust temp
    Speedo
    Tach
    Oil press
    Fuel press
    Voltage
    Fuel level

How about you buy a Peterbilt or International diesel gauge Cluster and just swap the gauges to a flat piece of metal

That’s actually the plan. I’m going to use aluminum and cut it to fit into the original cluster space but will also put gauges wherever else I can fit them on or in the dash. Was just looking for peoples layouts

Was also thinking about full custom set of auto meters with the Toyota logo in the center for about $1300

Oh hell naw that's too much money. I would just use the Semi gauges in a piece of aluminum.

Out of curiosity, who were you going to use for the custom gauges that cost 1k?

I can’t remember the company I talked to that did custom gauge faces for auto meter. I have the quote somewhere in the shop. But I’m going to stick to truck gauges. Downside is I’ll have about 1k in gauges no matter who I go through.
Edit: each gauge is anywhere from 35-70 each. Plus a tach and speedo are around 150 each.
And I will NOT use glowshift gauges ever.

I'd go for the Peterbilt/International semi gauges, way more reliable than anything you can buy aftermarket.

Yeah that’s the plan. Probably going to run VDO or isspro.

Just doesn’t seem to be many people with custom clusters or more then one random gauge on their dashes.

There's a guy who did an LS swap here who did custom gauges on a piece of metal, totally forgetting his username. Look up LS Swap on the 1st gen builds section.

Actually talked to him already. He only has 2 gauges in the factory cluster location in a piece of aluminum. Everything else he has run through his Holley electronic monitor he built into his custom center console. Looks killer but I can’t really do that since everything on my engine is mechanical.

I'm guessing you need some kind of computerized system to control the gauges?

I would if I wanted to go that route but I’m just going to run mechanical gauges.
His set up runs with his fuel injection off the LS and is a full plug and play with the engine sensors on it.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Speedhut makes custom face and needle gauges for a reasonable price. When I change to a Microsquirt I'm just going to adapt stock gauges and add boost, afr, and oil pressure separately.
