I park my Tacoma outside, so before summer really kicks in here in Southern California, I wanted to get a sunshade for the windshield. I decided I wanted an insulated shade that was made to fit my 2001 Tacoma so I first purchased a CoverKing CSSZ65GM7273 sunshade for $36. When I got it it did not fit like a custom fit sunshade should. It was too wide and too tall to fit. I returned it.

I then ordered the Weathertech TS0607 for $50 with similar fitment problems. I reached out to weathertech, who is famous for the fit of there products. I was hoping they would tell me I ordered the wrong model or something, but nothing like that. Not evan an apology, I was just given a return FedEx label. So now I am returning that one as well.

I am posting this to hopefully save someone else the time and money on purchasing one of these "custom fit" sunshades. I am going to just get a cheap one and not worry about the fit.

    From Coverking's website:
Coverking's true Custom Sunshields are made-to-order specifically for your Tacoma. Every pattern is designed specifically for your make, model, year, and options. We have no ‘one size fits all’ sun shields. Your windshield has been analyzed by Coverking engineers using state-of-the-art 3D scanning equipment. The custom pattern is tested for precise fit and durability. You are guaranteed a great fit with Coverking's Sunshield.

    From Weathertech's website
SunShade Windshield sun shades are custom-fit for your 2001 Toyota Tacoma and when properly installed, will remain snug in each window opening. For added security, fold down the visors to hold SunShade in place.

I like the kind that fold into little circles. Flexible enough to make it fit fine over the windshield.

So sorry I made you dumb. I was just trying to help others who might be looking for a sunshade. If you weren't looking for a custom fit sunshade you could have avoided the attack on your intelligence by reading the subject and moving on.

It's always fun figuring out how to fold it back up. Some you're supposed to fold into a taco and then twist. Some of them you have to "twist" it and then.. twist it again? Idk. They're weird but they work. I can fit mine in the map pocket of the passenger seat.

I'm not stressed, just can't figure out Black Dog Lila's problem, he must have nothing better to do with his time than post smart a** comments. There are a lot of posts people make that don't interest me, but I guess they have value to others so I just move on without comment. I didn't join the forum for drama, but if he wants to continue to comment, I'll just consider the source.

The Covercraft 256-UV10606SV WINDOW COVER I have fits my 2003 Tacoma perfectly. The only downside is that it isn't a cheap or flexible as those crappy exploding/fold-into-itself ones that you can stuff almost anywhere, so it's a little annoying to store when not in use.

    https://www.amazon.com/Covercraft-UV10606SV-Silver-Custom-Sunscreen/dp/B001GF3P14

I bought it July 2014 and other than some scratching on the silver side, it looks and functions like brand new.

Can you post a picture? I really want a nice one, but after getting screwed on the first two, I don't want it to happen again.

Another option is to make DIY sunshades. I've made one for each window of my truck (and also my Accord) using Reflectix from Lowes. Make templates with cardboard and then trace the cardboard on the foil insulation. A 50 foot roll is $20-25 and makes a ton of shades. Don't expect a 70F interior when it's 90+ outside, but it keeps the interior surfaces a lot cooler.
