Custom Center Console

Howdy,
I removed the center console on my '99 because I get new seats and I did not like the squeeze, and the square cup-holders were far from useful. Has anyone built a custom center console, preferably with a switch panel? Id love to hear ideas!

I built a custom one to house a subwoofer. At some point I will make another one that has some more features like cup holders and maybe a switch panel.

Hey that's pretty schnazzy! You get some storage and cup holders on that bad boy and you'd have yourself a damn good product! I like it!!

Haha you're not the first person to mention that! I now have 01-04 door panels so everything you see there is replaced.

 

This is awesome. I'm not sure why I never thought of it, but it pretty much has endless possibilities.

What kind of seats are those

 

Acura RSX. I'm currently looking for some leather 4runner seats to swap in instead.

 

Don't like the RSX seats?

 

They are great, but the driver seat has torn and I want something that fits a little better. I'm a perfectionist and want something closer to stock now.

Also, it was a real pain to get them mounted correctly.

 

hows this for a custom center console

fits perfect between the seats and can be removed in seconds. i've had this little basket for probably 3 years now, works great lol

Do you have any pics how you mounted the seats?

 

Working on the dash/center console, coming out pretty nice. Got the shifter mocked up and the ash/coin tray mounted. Next is to figure out where to put the double din

 

I'm thinking of putting the shifter backwards and making custom stickers for the PRN321. What do you guys think?

Because this stupid arm the cable bolts to has been giving me nothing but problems, so why not send it backwards out of the way!!

 

looks good! I am curious how youre going to get the shifter to mechanically connect to the stock assembly. You've gotten this far so im sure you have a plan. What are your plans for covering/finishing your console with as far as material goes?

 

Fiberglass on the inside for reinforcement and then padding and vinyl on the outside
