So, I have been toying around the idea of building a custom rear center console subwoofer enclosure. I don't really like the idea of them behind the rear seats due to space constrictions/ not being able to run a ported box.

Anybody have ideas or feedback to aid in the design process it would be greatly appreciated.

Not center console, but still... I'm not a fan of ported enclosures so I can't help you much, but if people have put two 10" subs and an amp rack behind the rear seats, I can't imagine there not being enough room for a ported enclosure. I'm still not sure that you've got enough space between the seats for a ported enclosure anyhow.

Make a down fire box. You could make one to look like the center console goes all the way to the back seat.

For a better idea i would google extended cab down fire boxes. you will see that some of them set on the rear seat and go down to the floorboard.

You can run a ported box behind the seat,
A center console will still be rather big either way and eat up allot of space regardless.

a single 12 ported is possible, toss 1-2kw on it and call it a day

Understandable. I've always been told that a port needs room and something to bounce off of to sound the best. I was wondering how that works behind the seat? I've looked at taco tunes enclosures which throws the port directly into the back seat. I haven't seen any designs for ported boxes behind the seats.
