So I decided to tackle the project building my own front bumper. I initially tried to find a 3d model of a tacoma front end to model it that way, but I couldn't find anything that would work well. I decided to use the tried and true cardboard aided design method lol.

I wanted to go for more of a Baja style design. Once I mocked up the cardboard I headed to
my workplace where I have access to a laser cutter. I took pictures of each cardboard cutout and traced them out in auto cad. After that I cut each piece out of mild steel.

I headed back to my shop and began tacking all the pieces together. Fully welding it took FOREVER. For the center cutouts I plan on adding stainless wire mesh similar to what trophy trucks use. If this gains some traction here I will for sure add some more pictures as I go. I figured I would try and see if I can get some love on Tacoma World, why not. Thanks!

Ps sorry if this is not where I'm supposed to post stuff I'm pretty new haha.

Very cool OP! Would be nice to have these type of skills and access to that equipment, but I am relegated to working my ass off so I can pay other people to do this stuff for me :)

No plans for a winch for now, I could possibly integrate it somewhere down the road though!

Darn. Was hoping you’d be close to Eau Claire. Pretty sure I’m the only active member from that area.

How does it tie in to the frame? No Recovery points? Cool stuff, some DIY metal fab is always a good idea.
