I get a coupon pretty frequently for $24 or $28.99 can't remember which it is. It's Mobile 1 and a OEM filter. I can't change it for that. I've never had any issues and I write the mileage and date on the filter with a paint pen when I get home. I've never had any issues and they vacuum the truck out and check the tire pressure, fill up the wiper fluid ect. Alot of guys hate on dealer oil changes but for me it's worth it. I trust the maintenance department there and they have a Starbucks Coffee machine and fresh cookies. Win win for me!

Not sure, but I can do it for $30 or so and 10 minutes. Probably be a 2 hour ordeal going to the dealer.

My dealer is $39.99 with coupon, but does pretty much what the service interval calls for as long as it is service, ie that would include the greasing the 5 zerks on the drive/propeller shaft supposedly, and tire rotation. Includes filter and basic 5w/30 oil. But does not include anything else, like spark plugs, cabin filter, air filter.....so you can ask just for an oil change if you do not want them to do other interval work at added cost. After the 25000 mile free Toyota Care decided to do service interval work myself...... found that the little rubber nipple/plug was gone from beneath the filter housing (6 cyl.), there was no "crush ring" on the drain plug, and the shield had never been removed from around the propeller shaft leading me to conclude that the propeller shaft zerk had never been greased, tho the others that are easily accessible had been.

They don't grease anything during the 'free' oil changes.

My local dealer offers "free oil changes for life" if you buy the vehicle from them new. I know they totally bury that in their insane profit margin and will start trying to upsell other services when the mileage gets higher, but for now it feels like a good deal and they're really close to work.

Besides, the joke is on them: I'm going to own this thing for a while and I always drink at least 4 cups coffee in the lobby while I wait. They get the good K cups too......

$44.48 for an oil change. However, my dealer gives you a free one-day loaner for routine maintenance (unlimited for recall/warranty) and all I have to pay is $12.50 plus tax for insurance on the loaner (most recently it was a 2017 Corolla with just 300 miles!). I rarely go to the dealer anymore and I haven't gotten it inspected there since 2012 (my inspection is due in October of every year, and my 3-year/36K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty expired in September 2012). I've always brought it to my dad's mechanic for inspection beginning in 2013.

Something always happens to my truck that requires me to bring it to the dealer in late winter-early spring (recall on cat converter, horn shorting out, headlights not perfectly straight, PRNDL gear selector light not staying on; Never anything serious), and I always seem to need an oil change between February and April. It's second oil change is typically needed in September-October, which is when the inspection is due). At that point I've always brought it to my dad's mechanic. This same mechanic also changed my transmission fluid for the first time in 2015 or 2016.

I do my own oil changes, but my dealership runs a continuous "special" - $99 for three 5000 mile services which includes conventional oil, oil filter & tire rotation, topping off of fluids, multi-point inspection, etc. I believe they bump it up to $129 for synthetic oil.

I upgraded to full synthetic from the regular $30 oil change done the other day. I had a $5 off coupon & it ran me $69 out the door. So basically, going from regular to synthetic more than doubled the price. Those fuckers.

Not sure about the 4.0 and 3.5, but I'm pretty sure the 2.7 requires synthetic.

I do my own oil changes on my personal Tacoma, but I generally go to the dealership with the work Taco. I think I get out of there for about $50 including tire rotation.
