"Crystal Headlights" vs. just normal "Headlights"? Is there a difference?

I'm getting some new headlights, and I won't go into the rediculous situation I'm in or how with two companys.. but I would like to know if there is a difference between headlights that have "crystal lenses" versus other headlights that don't claim to be crystal. Is it just a marketing thing to sound better and charge more?

Need the money :( going to be starting grad school at the end of September and I'll be going to UCSB. Tuition plus housing in a place like that is a TON of money. So I'm selling a few things unfortunately :( might have to sell the bed rack I made for my truck even.

There should not be a difference. "Crystal" refers to the clear lenses on our trucks, vs. the older vehicles that had lenses with texture (little "prisms") on the inside to distribute the light. These old lights, usually the old sealed beam glass lens type, had smooth reflectors. The new lights, with "crystal" clear lenses have the prisms / angled surfaces built into the reflector to distribute/aim the light in different directions, therefore don't need the textured lenses.
The only reason you should pay more is brand name/quality vs cheap e-bay type, but they are all crystal.

    Great thanks for the info!

Yeah, I ordered from one company, waited to get the lights (had a tracking # even) but they never showed. Called them, then they told me my order was cancelled because they were out of stock. Two days later I get headlights at my door from some seller on ebay, and a charge for the orginal amount is back on my credit card, despite the reciept in the box being way less. Turns out the company ordered them on ebay and entered my address as the shipping one. They tried to make an extra $40 by ordering some random set on ebay, but put back my original charge. Well, by that point I had already ordered from another company.

Long story short Pro Tunning Labs is getting a nasty call once I actually get a hold of them. They tried making a quick $40 on my aftering failing to tell me that they were even out of stock by ordering somerwhere else.

^^That sucks that they would do that. I hope you get it sorted out. Fortunately if it is on a credit card you can report them and get your money back if it gets to that.

I have cheap e-bay lights and they work okay, but obviously not the quality of the more expensive OEM brand.
