As an employee of Cogswell Cogs, that Spacely Sprocket sticker is pretty uncalled for. I'm at about a 6 on being bothered.

Since you are in the most holy place of a female whale, I'll offer my apologies. As far as being bothered, is the whale somewhere off the coast of California?

OP, I think a sticker with "Jeep recovery vehicle" is funny and I'd be okay with it.

Some of my other thoughts not specifically directed to the OP...

I think a sticker on your truck is a method of expressing yourself. It could be funny or all together something different, it depends on who is getting the message. Like the clothes we put on everyday, what we say, what we do, how we do it, tattoos, earrings, hair style, language and even how we maintain our more suttle care, like showering & shaving, it's an expression. Forget the saying of "don't judge a book by its cover" these things are your cover and it's a "cover" we've decided to make. It's a message we send. So, I say be prepared to be judged, good or bad, by the message you send...otherwise, why send it?

Which, I like better... and is the reason I moved to North Idaho from NY

Northern ID would be nice. At this point, being stuck in CA, ANY ID I could get to would still be an improvement…

One of my favorites. I'm so tolerant it hurts sometimes.

Saw a funny (not crude or rude) one last night:
"If knitting were exercise, you could bounce a quarter off my ass!"

I put a sticker on the back of my Dad's work van that said "Got MILF?". It was there for a few months, or even a year, before a coworker asked him about it. He came straight to me about it and I had forgotten all about it. I immediately broke out laughing which didn't help him cool down, but he eventually saw the funny. He had just cleaned the van when it went on, so he wasn't able to get it off. Just scraped the F out of MILF.

I agree that too many people get offended over something that is simply funny. But I do have to admit that I see a few that are over the top. Like the one right below.

This would be the one sticker I would get offended about. There is nothing humorous at all about women who are battered by asshole men who think they are a big man for beating up on a woman.

I'm from the south myself, and proud of my heritage, yes. But I can see the point in a lot of this. Sure, be proud, and understand that your family fought and died under that flag. I get it. So did mine. BUT I am not proud about what a lot of that flag stood for, and that was slavery. The south tried to make it seem like it was about freedom, but look at the history books. It was more about slavery than anything. THAT I am not proud of. I'm not ripping you for having them. I agree that it IS more about heritage than hate. It wasn't about hate.

I would say this: Don't drive into any Alabama small towns and park that truck anywhere. Just sayin' :p

I live and work in the looney uber-moonbat capital of Massachusetts, and I happened to be running errands with Mrs. Agent one day. I was at the recycling center :anonymous: when some crackpot approached me and asked about my Punisher symbol.

She so firmly believed it was a governmental symbol that I actually laughed in her face. I said "It's a comic book character, what are you talking about?" She said that Governmental agents were seen at the Boston Marathon bombing wearing that skull. I was too amused to be pissed, but I did jab her with "Seek out some mental health counseling"

Many years ago, before mentally unhinged lunatics shot up schools and malls, I was working the desk one night and got a call from another female (probably the same bitch who complained about my Punisher).

She wanted to report a pickup truck driving down the street with an "I [heart] Assault Weapons" bumper sticker on it. I asked her what she wanted the police to do about it? She said he should be stopped and made to take it off. I said that is freedom of speech and we would absolutely NOT be doing anything of the sort.

Around here, liberals are all for free speech, until it's something they don't agree with.

Sounds like CA. The hypocrisy is rampant here, too.

I made some good friends and met some great people who were Muslims in Iraq - I consider myself to be quite tolerant and open minded. And this is hilarious. :)

Also, hypocrisy is everywhere, on all sides of the political arena. It's just hard to see it when it is *your* hypocrisy....

As for me, I don't stick anything on my truck. Since bumper stickers are necessarily so small/quick it is so easy for people to read into it all their personal politics, anger, or just misunderstand it.
So while it's funny or can be perfectly well explained if you actually had a conversation, you usually don't have that chance, and people drive off or in my old sticker days key my car. Just what I do, and I'm glad I live in a country where people can put these things all over their cars if they want.

I just put stickers on my truck so my friends can easily spot me and so other people can understand my hobbies..
kayaking and fishing lol. the only one that might be offensive is my fraternity (to other fraternities) sticker and even then I doubt anyone would get pissed over it.
