Craziest bed painting you'll see this week

On our salty roads, the old tacos around here still have perfect beds, but the bed bolts get pretty rusty. I wanted to paint mine. And my 2 platform boards need some paint. So while I have the paint out, why not add a few extra accents in the bed? I wanted to pick a few things to jazz up, but also wanted none of it visible from outside the truck:


And on the driver side there's the 4x4 emblem that used to be on the tailgate:


I left the bolt heads black here. Looks pretty cool:


Notice the cable ends on the tailgate cable have a surprise of color invisible when the gate is closed.


I even put a bit of black on the other ends and on the unpainted gate latch parts.


Using the bright yellow tie-downs in low light should be a bit easier. But, to be honest, it's mostly just for fun.

Did some painting in my bed too.
Made a trip to the dump this weekend. Someone spilled paint on the ground that i didn’t see. Jumped in the bed to sweep it out and customized my bed at the same time.
Irritated but “it’s a truck”.

 

Get the bed mat and you're good to go. But I agree that "it is a truck".

 

I’m into blacked out, but yellow really blends in

 

That’s the next purchase. Just wasn’t fast enough.

The best thing is like you said it’s not visible from the outside... I did something similar with my bike when I was 7.

 

No way I'd ever do that to mine. Obviously you're happy with it, so that's what matters.

 

Reflective paint would be interesting.

Just lean into it. Go get your own paint, grab an old boot, and make it like you meant it.
