Good afternoon, I noticed that my engine idles a little rough. When I accelerate it seems normal.
But I noticed that the crank shaft pulley has some wobble to it.
I looked up the part and online it only has one single pulley.
Mine has 3 belts attached to it.
Anyone know where to find the correct pulley?

That would be the largest pulley? The one further back? In essence, the two front one are connected to the main one?

    yes. bolted to it.

Do you have an impact? A strong impact? That center bolt is hefty and tight to take apart and inspect.

edit: This is doubtfult to be connected to a rough idle though.

Yes it’s extremely tight on there!

I’ll try a breaker first. It’s also making a noise so I figured change might be good.
I’ll probably buy some spark plugs and new coil packs. I don’t know when the previous owner changed them.

There's an easy way with a breaker if you're comfortable with it. If not, you'll need a backup bar made to fit the balancer holes.

You might make a vid of the wobble. None of them are perfectly true.

Check that the bolts holding the outer pulley to the inner are tight.

A balancer can go bad (rubber splits or key shears) but it's not a common thing at all.

Piggy backing on the OP here; is replacing the harmonic balancer something done often on our trucks?

I ask because I've had to do it on my LS6 Z06 last year and my LS1 C5 and LS3 C6 the year before; it's a common thing in the Corvette/Camaro world with these LS engines.

So far the Powerbond HB's are holding up well.

If the timing is changing because it has sheared the key it could effect the idle

it won't affect the timing. Inner belt is driven by gear, not pulley and what I meant by doubtful is because it shouldn't clean up with increased RPM if something is broke. It would get worse I would imagine.

Just guessing here....what about the Crankshaft knock sensor? Is it near the crank pully?
If it gets an intermittent signal from wobble,?

I'd have to check the manual to see where it is.

    inside, reading the timing gear.

I think the pulley is ok. Ya know, these aren't Cadillacs. Nothing looked 'rough' in the video.

Not to say that this is a normal thing, but I noticed that mine has the same type of wobble the other day. Nearly identical.

The ratchet strap the breaker bar to the frame and bump it with the starter method?

Plug and play LED. bought car with a trailer break system. everything else is stock
your video doesn't seem too extreme but yeah a little wiggly, I feel like if it was really bad your belts would tear apart. plugs and coil packs could do it. any leaks in the vac lines? cam position sensor?

Was this ever resolved? I recently did a head gasket job on a newly purchased 2002 2.7L 4 cyl so I know the harmonic balancer was tight and not loose. I can see the same exact wobble on the back pulley while the front two are true. Worried this kind of wobble will kill my key hole and wonder if it is better to leave it be or replace. Really dont want to loosen that miserable bolt again unless I have to :help:

when I had this problem on my 2.7 it was because the outer portion of the balancer (part the belt rides on) had separated from the rubber piece and was just spinning on the rubber. Had to replace the balancer. Pull that inner belt off and see if you can move the outer portion at all. If so you need a new balancer.
