Does anyone know a part number for a crankshaft position sensor pigtail? Has anyone changed this? I see one of the small three cables (red) somehow came out of the pigtail. Now, I think the only wait to fix this is by adding a new pigtail, unless there is another way that someone can show me? Or if there was a way I could somehow only put that connector back in, which I doubt. I rather not take to dealer, I feel like that's going to cost an arm and a leg.

    This is a 2017 3.5 Tacoma.

Awesome, thanks! I see that the person who posted wire and connector parts purchased both. I wonder if I can just purchase one terminal wire and somehow just fix the one wire that popped out versus having to splice a new connector with all three wires.

If you have to order the parts like I did, then it's probably safer to get 3 terminals and a connector just in case. I don't think they were very expensive.

You may have trouble getting the new terminal in due to the poor access or you might get lucky. It might also be helpful to see how the terminal and connector go together in a place where you can see what you're doing before trying it in place.

Lol I just realized that you're the person who made the post on that thread haha.

The thing is that only one pulled out a bit. The three wires are $15 each at my local store, the connector is another $15. They said a total of $66!!!!

Which is why I was thinking maybe I can try one first to see If I can make it work, but I do see what you mean, it might be very difficult pushing that one in.

If it’s the one I am thinking, I have a connector at home. I’ll snap a picture of it. I can make you a pigtail connector if that’s the case.

$5.76 each for the wires and $5.79 for the connector from one of the online Toyota parts stores. Just Google the part numbers.

Question, do you know how to remove the terminals from this type of plug? I’ve looked everywhere online, I’ve found many videos, but of course none for this specific plug.

I know it has a small little white tab on the side, I pull that out, then you can see the terminals from the side. Then what? I’m about to give up and just cut all three wires and buy a new connector and new wires versus trying to re install just one.

Btw, how exactly did you connect the new wires to the pre existing ones? I see you used heat shrink but underneath that. What did you use?

My guess is that there are barbs on the terminals to keep them in the connector so you would need a tube shaped tool that would slip over the terminal and compress the barbs. Again, having a new terminal and connector will help you see how things go together which should help with taking them apart.

Or find a similar connector under the hood that you can see better to study.

I soldered the wires and then covered them with heat shrink tubing (the good stuff with the adhesive inside to make them water tight).

Yeah that's what I'm about to do, order a new one. I was trying to study one of the cam sensors but I got frustrated lol.

Did you wrap them up with tubing and or heat wrap tape?

I believe I used both but it's been a while.
