Reading all of these frame rot stories would have me afraid to buy one out of a northern state.

Not that anything written in a Craigs List Ad could be anything but true, BUT that gear shift knob looks like it has a hell of a lot more wear than 80k miles. Maybe 180 and I would believe it

Looks like a nice find but I definitely agree about the shift knob looking oddly overworn. I have the exact same shifter and it looks brand new after 110k. Who knows though, maybe the previous owner had a gear shift fetish.

Craigslist is nothing but fake scammers and bad dealerships,buyers beware.

 

I have found many awesome legit deals on CL, but yes there are many scammers on there as well. If it seems too good to be true it probabaly is but every once in a while someone really isnt aware of the value of what they are offering or they need to get rid of something fast or both.

When I was in the market for a used Taco I came across several legit deals on clean well cared for trucks being sold by guys moving into newer vehicles who were refusing to settle for trade in value. The problem was getting to them before they were sold.

As far as dealers go ... kinda the same thing. Shady dealers love to unload their crap on CL, but so many used car buyers turn to CL as their first resourse that even legitimate lots use it to advertise their stock, so its a great way to see whats available and gives you a good read on the market in your particular area.

 

So it's a 4cyl dressed as an off road? I'd go to the dealership if it wasn't so far away and check it out myself. It does have the Differential Lock though as seen in the interior. Who knows.

 

It's a 6 speed, reverse is to the left and up, you can almost see the R. You can also see the locker button. Also, my truck has 100k and my shifter looks like that. Dirty/oily hands put a hurting on the leather.

Yes, the 4.0 only comes in a 6sp. The 5sp manuals are in the 4 banger
