oem or safelite glass? Have a 17 taco off road with no radar sensor, talked to the the technician and he said they’re both basically the same with no toyota logo. Any body got the windshield replace can give some tips would be great.

Safelite is garbage, used them once. Went through 3 windshield in 9 months. It's like Section 8 if replacement glass.

Mine is in glass shop right now. Plinkerton OE is being installed. Same as Plinkerton OEM, without Toyota logo.

I’d go oem, if you develop a leak. Toyota will blame safelite, safelite will blame Toyota, and you’ll be stuck with the leak

I used safelite and the windshield was cracked again within a month (thanks dallas constuction). So stupid me went with safelite again.

If it cracks again I will be going a separate route.

Well, just picked mine up from Twin Cites Auto Glass. Plinkerton OE good quality replacement. But Installer did horse shit job. Has to be replaced again. Gap and seal at roof line is supposed to be 1/8" from glass to roof. Seal is to be touching roof line and flipped up. The gap on mine now is 3/8" from roof and seal not even touching roof. Plus inside of truck had garbage and sealant all over. Glass slivers under hood. Bitched big time... Called Insurance Co right away. Insurance agent/owner said send pictures. He call claims dept, and TCG haven't billed yet. ( Good luck getting paid by State Farm) He said go to another glass Co/installer and State Farm will cover replacement again. I have no deductible on glass replacement. What a pain in the ass. Another 4hrs shot, on another day.

youre going to get two completely different experiences. Personally, I have never had a problem with safelite and Ive used them 3 times: 2002 BMW X5, 1996 Honda Accord, 2010 Ford Escape.

Never safelite again, installed 3 windshields in my Z71, still leaked when I traded it in on my Tacoma. Guy told me they only get paid $15 per call, so that's why we can't get quality work.

I did Plinkerton glass via Safelite about a month ago. Perfect fit. Really it comes down to the person doing the install.

Just had mine done by Safelite. It’s Pilkington with the GoPro mount. No complaints.
