    So I wanted to see what others are paying to order up a sport hood and have it painted and installed by a Toyota dealer that has its own body shop.

    I had emailed the local dealership that has a body shop and was loosely told it would cost about $2,052.55
    That seems several hundred too much to me. They did tell me to stop by and they can give a more accurate estimate but at that price I’ll just keep my off road hood. Just curious what others are being quoted.

    OEM hood should be around be around 6-700, then I wouldnt pay anything over 400 to paint it. Install is 4 bolts and a hose, so figure 120 for labor.

    I’d be impressed if she did :D

    I would pay more for paint and less for labor.

    @Goatfrog
    I paid about $700 for OEM hood and scoop parts. Paint and install was $700

    it’s more than what most people would want to spend but I was wasting too much time and energy searching and waiting for a swap.

    The grand total for mine was around $1500 when all is said and done. The biggest variable being the paint. I opted to get mine done at a local collision center instead of dealership. I’m very pleased with the results. I was told super white is the easiest color to match and other colors would be more expensive.

    I would be comfortable at $1,500, but that is pretty much the max I want to pay.

    Me too ... I’d have preferred a hood swap but there are just too many people with the same idea in my area that are looking to do the same thing so I felt it really was my only option after a year of looking.

    I did have another dealer give me a parts estimate of about $800, but then I would have to get it and cart it off to a body shop somewhere. Between my job and kids, I don’t have time for all of that. I definitely need a one stop shop kind of thing.

    I think my parts total was around $600 ... I purchased it during Toyota’s Black Friday sale last year. The hood in its OEM box fit really nicely in the bed of my truck and although it was a bit of a pain I think it’s worth the inconvenience for $500 less cost.

    Long waiting list I’m sure. I’d rather just go to dealership and get it over with.

    I’m assuming the sport and pro hood have the same part number? I also need to purchase the black vinyl decal for the hood.

    I'd recommend a replica from a vendor like @CBoy808 because what the dealer charges for the OEM decal is criminal. Plus it says "TRD Pro"

    If he can find someone willing.
    I’d do it if I had a 3rd gen sport but I’m probably one of the few here who hates the scoop

    I would have just bought a pro, but they don’t make them in red anymore and I wanted a long bed as well. Wasn’t interested in buying used either.
