My leaf springs are done and I want to replace them. I know there's lots of options but can get a set of 3rd gen leaf springs for $300.

    My Truck
2012 Double Cab TRD Sport Auto totally stock
I have a consistent load of about 500 lbs between my Leer topper and tools.

Leaf springs I'm looking at came off
2021 Double Cab TRD Off Road Auto

    Part numbers
    48220-04241
    48210-04601

    Will these fit my truck?

Yes, they will fit. Your part numbers are correct. I just replaced a set of leafs from a 2nd Gen with a set from a 3rd Gen TRD OR and they had the exact part numbers you listed.

    Excellent
Thank you everyone. I looked at other posts just couldn't find those part numbers.
I don't have a problem with $300 it's better than the bad leaf springs I have now.

Is there any lift to be gained from this swap other than restoring the truck to the original ride height?

Those practically new springs along with some sumo springs and/or maybe an AAL should float your boat. With the weight you're carring you need one or the other with OEM leaf springs. Or, you might look into a set of Deaver leaf springs that are "sprung" to fit your needs.

Anyone know if there is a difference between these and the 2nd gen recall leafs springs?

2+ overland on pre-recall to 3+ overload on recall pack.

Ok... Let me clarify... Is there a difference between the 3rd gen leaf springs being referenced and the 2nd gen recall springs.

Gotcha, you want to know the difference between 3rd gen leaf springs and the 2nd gen recall leaf springs. I'm pretty sure they are the same, but I've haven't compared them next to each other. I did a google search and found this thread.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tsb-leaf-springs-and-3rd-gen-or-same.644626/

If you go with stock 3rd gen or 2nd gen recall leaf springs you're going to need something to assist with the load you carry. I have a Leer cap and keep containers full of camping and riding gear in the bed all the time. I also use either a hitch carrier or pull a utility trailer when I head off to the boonies. When the recall springs, with that extra leaf were installed, I was hoping it would help with the constant load I carry around. I soon realized it did not so I added sumo springs first then added an AAL. Both were easy to intall, but in retrospect a set of Deaver leaf springs may have been the best route.

They will fit. I would go to say they are the same thing? Maybe someone correct me if Im Wrong.

but I would advise that you also get a beefier leaf pack. 500lbs constant load will wear out the 3rd gen leaf pack pretty quickly as well. And if you are paying $300? Might as well spend a little more and get something beefier. I got 2 different ome leaf packs, like new off Craigslist for 400 each.

3/4" lift on my 2nd gen using 3rd gen leaf springs. I definitely wasn't happy with 3rd gen leafs with ~400 lbs of tools hauled around 24/7.

Can't thank everyone enough for all the feed back.

I've decided to purchase springs from Standen's here in Calgary. They will build a custom spring pack to fit my needs (supply and installed for about $1000).

I have a 2012 ext cab 4x4 base model. Found a set of leaf springs from a 2022 TRD, was wondering if they will bolt right up on my truck?

Yes and you will get an inch or a little more on the front with the struts.
