I’m this || close to pulling the trigger on some Corbeau Trailcats, I have dug into reviews pretty heavy the past couple of days and was deciding between the XRS, the LG1, and the Trailcats. I think they are all very solid choices, but the Trailcats have a lower thigh bolster which will make getting in and out of my lifted rig on 37’s much easier, and also be less wear and tear on the seat. So for me and my truck, the Trailcats are the right choice.

I have the brown interior, and anyone else who also has the brown interior will know there are about 418967149086710 different shades of brown in there. I am really curious if Corbeau’s “beige” option is a good match. I’d like to have some continuity in my seats and the rest of the interior, but if its a poor match I’d be happy to go all black.

NOW, my question is, do any of you have these in your 1st gens? I would love to see pictures! I know there is at least one member with them, and I sent a PM, but haven’t heard back. Hopefully this thread will uncover some more of y’all with the Trailcats, and maybe I’ll get lucky and one of you will have the beige option!

Can't help you.on color but Corbeau seats are VERY comfortable. Especially off road. Your back will be thankful. A friend swapped them into his tj Rubicon and it extended the wheeling time for hours. No more lower back pinch.

I’ve read several similar reviews across other platform forums, looking forward to the increased comfort, especially as a tall guy prone to lower back pain.

A blessing and a curse is that my seats are in excellent condition with no rips, tears, stains, scents, foam is good, etc; the truck only has about 80k miles on it now. So I should be able to recover a few hundred bucks in selling them, but I am thinking I’ll probably never come across a cleaner set of stockers if I ever did look back. No room to store them, so they’ll have to go, is what it is.

Is the Trailcat a fabric, or vinyl seat? It looks pretty good, in fact, I added it to my consideration list.

Vinyl is shown, but you can get a fabric center, or diamond stitch

Ooh, I like the fabric center option. I def. need to look into these as an option. That and the GTS IIs.

I ordered them shortly after starting this thread, and shortly after that was contacted by Corbeau and told they were going to be delayed about 2 months. I believe I posted in a little more detail in my build thread for those that are interested, but in brief I am still waiting on them. Hoping they’ll show up mid August, as soon as they do I’ll put them in, take a bunch of pictures and do a little write up

I should also note that I ordered them in black vinyl with black stitching. I couldn’t find any examples of the beige in a Tacoma with the Oak interior and decided that black would be the safer color choice.

@StevenP, is it bad that I was just thinking about your Trailcat purchase the other day and thinking, “August is almost here...” wondering when your order would ship? Lol

Yes, I’m that eager to hear feedback.

These are the Corbeau Moabs. I went with the 'Spice' color. I think it works pretty well with the factory interior.

    Hows the comfort?
How’s the seat height? Did you get the Corbeau brackets or just make your own?

I came from another aftermarket seat I really didn't like, and in comparison these are awesome. I find them very comfortable even for long drives, and on the trail. Probably not as nice as the trailcats, but they're quite a bit cheaper. I used the corbeau brackets, and added my own seat heaters. Height seems very close to factory, IIRC, maybe a touch higher.

Couple minor complaints - the vinyl gets pretty hot and sweaty on your back. Also the most vertical position for the back isn't quite as vertical as I would like.

Are you like me and enjoy sitting at pretty damn close to 90 degrees?

Do the corbeau seat brackets allow the seat to slide forward easily enough for behind seat access?

I do like sitting close to 90 sometimes, but alternate back positions as I drive.

Yes they slide forward enough to access the back, however they don't slide super smooth, and I miss the passenger seat springing forward automatically.

    Thanks. Appreciate the insight.

I always go cloth for seats because I don’t like sweaty backs or schweddy balls.

I think I’m about 50 lbs heavier than you so maybe the extra added comfort of the Trail Cats is the way to go for me.

Quick update for those interested. I got a call from Corbeau, the seats should be shipping out in a couple days, in theory I could have them next week :fingerscrossed:
