I've seen several people on this forum sporting the Cooper Discoverer on their 17" trd pro wheels. So I was looking into those and found out that there are different kind of cooper discoverer. I was wondering if anybody can tell me which one they have and what's the difference? Pictures would be well appreciated too.

    Thanks!

I'm a fan of the Cooper ATPs. 40K+ on mine so far. Even with wheeling, there's still tons of tread.

I had Discoverer at3 tires on my previous truck (ranger) and really liked them. They were quiet on the road, long wearing, great in snow and rain, relatively sticky, and looked good. Not sure how they off road.....I'd probably characterize them as a very aggressive road tire with off-road capability.

Bad pic but this is all I have....

Hard to go wrong with any of Cooper's AT tires.

I have not run Discoverers but some of our fleet vehicles at work run them. No issues with towing, mountains, etc.

    AT3's (stock size), standard rating.

I chose these as a happy medium. They are light (38lb ea), but more aggressive than stock. No change in mpg, and they are quiet ... do well in the rain and snow so far.

I also love how they perform in the rain. I live along the coast and deal with a lot of rain. Especially with flooding the last 2 years. But even traveling across various states, it's performed well. Can't speak for snow though as we don't get any and I haven't encountered it.

Discoverer describes Cooper's entire AT and MT tire line - and they're all pretty badass tires. I'm running the ST Maxx's and they are complete beasts. I may go back to the AT3's for better milage when they wear out. The ATP's mentioned above are also excellent treads.

ATP's are America's tire exclusive pattern based on the AT3's correct? I was looking into those initially. The manager said the ATP's cup and wear badly. Any notice of this with yours? I may go back and try these after my Geolandars wear.

That pic of yours makes me itch for a T4R..... but I need the open bed.

    America/Discount tire exclusive.

    I've been happy with them. I do a 5-tire rotation every 5,000.

I run the STT Pro's. Just over a year and no issues in rain, or snow. They're a bit louder than an AT, but nothing obnoxious.

ST Maxx were on the top of my list when I upgraded to 34's last month. Sadly, however, not a single shop within an hour of Orange County, CA had them in any size. The thread on them has nothing but amazing feedback, but I chickened out as I didn't want to wait a week for a special order if I blew one out. :pout:

Never had a problem with ATP wearing irregularly. They're great tires.

And yes, ATP is exclusive to Discount/America's Tire.

    The AT3 is near identical.
