I'm looking to get a new wheel and tire combo soon on my 23 TRD Sport. I've got Bilstein 5100's on the top setting with a 1" block in the back (will swap out to OME springs and an AAL in the future). I am pretty set on getting the 4 runner SEMA 17x7 +4 wheels. I'm still on the fence about going 275/70R17 or 265/70R17.

With the small lift from the 5100's I don't want to buy wheels and tires and still have them look small like my stock ones do now on the truck with the lift installed. That and the difference in cost per tire is why I'm still on the fence between 275's and 265's, but I'd rather spend more on the 275's if that will make the truck's proportions look right.

The problem is it is hard to find a tire that I like that is a 275 that doesn't weigh a ton. I had Wildpeaks on my last Silverado and while they were great tires, I want to try something new. The lightest I found were Toyo Open Country's that were like 49 or 51lbs a tire. I don't want to lose a lot of MPG (I know I will lose some no matter what) or more importantly have to cut stuff to avoid rubbing. The truck only has 7,000 miles on it and I'm just not ready to go there, YET.

I'm also considering Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's, Toyo Open Country's (265's or 275's), or Nitto Ridge Grappers(these are offered in 275's too).

I was looking at tires and these Cooper Discover Rugged Trek's came up and I like the way they look. They seem to have pretty decent reviews, but I'm just not sure. I read they are owned by the same company that owns Mickey Thompson now. Has anyone any experience with these in 265/70R17?

Ahh the search for the perfect tire for this setup seems to be one that has me thinking I've finally made up my mind, then later on I have second thoughts.. I feel like I'm about to get married again :ballchain:!

Thanks for the advice. I've found this forum 100 times more helpful than the groups on facebook where all everyone does is bash someone else's ideas or truck.
