FCAD2A7D-FECA-4B43-BC4A-704581AE021B.jpg I have a brand new 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4x4. What do I have to do in order to fit the Cooper 285/75/R16 on the truck. Will a 2” leveling kit work or does it need a 3” and block in the rear?

    Thanks in advance.

He is asking if a 2 inch lift will be enough to fit those tires.......question being are you going those tires on the factory rims?...if so..anyone know if you need to go to a 9 inch rim for that wide?

If you want 33's but don't want to bother lifting or running spacers then go with 255/85/16's. I recommend Cooper S/T Maxx's.

I don’t mind spacers. I just want to know if a 2” spacer is enough or if I need to do a 3” spacer.

I'm pretty sure he meant wheel spacer. 285's will rub on the uca's without spacer or a rim with less + offset.

Also you just bought a very nice expensive truck, why put the cheapest possible lift on it.

    Like, so many.
You'll probably have to do the CMC.

    Correct.

OP, why do you need the bigger tires? The stock wranglers are actually not that bad off road.

I just like a more agressive looking tire. Cracks me up that’s it’s a TRD “Off Road” and it has passenger tires on it.

They may not look it, but many are proving these tires off road to be solid.

Some have punctured them more than others though.

I actually just went ahead and ordered 265/75R16 Cooper STT Pro’s. Only an 1” taller and shouldn’t need anything. I’m still going to lift it, but only with a 2” leveling kit. I’ll be fine with that.
