Cooler slide

Has anyone made a cooler slide? I have an RTIC 145 cooler and its large and in charge and i feel that the slide will help

 

It would take one serious slide to be able to handle the weight of that thing fully loaded. IMO it'd be cost prohibitive.

 

Well if i could do it for around 100 it wouldnt be bad. a slide for the entire bed is around 1000

 

I hope you can prove me wrong, but it's unlikely you'll be building a slide for that cheap. Slides capable of handling that sort of weight cost more than that alone.

Why would you want to is my question.

What benefit does a slide provide you? You still have to move the whole thing off the bed of the truck to get it anywhere.

Thats my first thought.

My second thought is there is a cargo slide made for the 4Runner you might be able to fasten to the bed that could handle the weight.

The issue is any slide you put in would more than likely be permanent. In a truck I wouldn’t want a slide in my way all the time.

It wouldnt be used with a cover. if im going anywhere for that long im camping. thats the purpose.

I understand transporting it i need to move it empty or have help i just mean as far as getting into it while camping. with the bed bars and RTT itll just make it all easier.

 

I had more or less the same setup described (bars & RTT). I started with a slide in the bed for just the fridge and then moved to a bed slide and I enjoyed the slide in the whole bed a lot more because I could get the things behind the fridge without a struggle.

Now I am in the process of moving everything to a trailer.

 

Now that is a cooler.

OP. Remove your bed mat, remove the feet off the cooler. Bitch will slide like its been lubed up with a bottle of astroglide

 

Hey man, I don't have any suggestions for a slide. If you find a solution that works, let me know.

But, I have been wanting to buy one of those 145qt RTIC coolers to brine hogs in before smoking.

Thanks for posting the pic; now I know that it will fit in the back. Does your tonneau cover close all the way? I have an ARE LS hard tonneau covers which looks like it has about the same amount of height built into it.

 

It wont close all the way. it comes close but no ciggy
