Welp after about 6 years my Duratrac tires have gotten worn down. They’re loud enough now that I need to turn the radio up. They’ve lost a lot of wet weather traction but still work good in the snow. They have been used as winter/mild off roading/towing tires so I haven’t a clue what kind of miles are on them. My summer/long trip tires are Michelin LTX. The Michelins still have tread remaining but they are getting dry rot so it’s time to retire them as well. Total miles between the two sets is around 110k. I decided to just run a single set of tires now because I’m just not getting out riding the dirt bike and camping as much so I don’t feel the need to have two sets of tires anymore. So I began researching All Terrain tires that had a bias toward on road performance. The criteria was quite road manners, good wet/snow traction, some off road capability and long wear characteristics. Of coarse I wanted something that looked a little bit agressive too because it is a truck after all. I considered the Cooper AT3 but would have likely been a little noisey. Then there’s the Falcon Wildpeaks but they seemed focused toward offroad performance but cool looking for sure. Michelins were right up there because they’re quite and long lasting but damn they are proud of those tires. So I decided to take a chance on the new Continentals since they kinda checked all the boxes for me. I’m getting them mounted on Monday and I’ll report back, with pictures of course, after I part with that cabbage.

Thank you for taking the time to record your past findings. I think you will enjoy the new Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires. Please post a photo when you get a chance and let us know your thoughts when you clock some miles on them.

    Thank you for your business!

I just took a pictures of one of the tires and will include it here. I doubt anybody is going to get real excited about the look but that was not a priority for me. I wanted a tire that was quiet, had good wet weather traction, good in the snow and long wearing tread. At this point I can only comment on two of those things. It was raining when I left the tire store and the traction was much better. Pressed on the gas going through a turn and didn’t get any hint of the rear loosing traction and the front didn’t try to push out either. I went through some areas that had standing water on the road and the tires cut right through it. No hydroplaning at all. I can’t really even hear any tire noise anymore. Got up to highway speed and no vibrations. Rides so much smoother now. I’m hoping I don’t have to deal with the snow again till next winter but this winter is not over yet here in Illinois. Will have to wait till May/June to get out in the boonies and test the off road ability. I’m really happy with these tires so far and hope to get at least 50k from them. Also Seems to be getting better mpg. I’m a fan of RWLs but these would look better turned in. The lettering is just too small.

Looks great OP! Thinking about these tires too. Do you have any pics of your truck further back with the new tires mounted? Trying to get a feel for how they look.

Here’s95F6DD21-0166-4B08-B300-7E8DA7FB2D72.jpg another angle. 5000 miles on these now and just got back from a dirt bike ride/dispersed camping trip. These tires dragged my trailer down some fire roads and two track in the sand to get to camp. My mpg while towing was better than the Duratracs these replaced. That quiet smooth ride is a nice change. Nobody stops to admire my tire/wheel combo...including me. Would buy again.

How are the Terrain Contacts holding up? I’m thinking of orders a set of 265/60 18 to replace a set of very noisy Mickey Thompson Deegan 38’s that came on my truck. Did you buy from @Discount Tire ?

I did buy them from discount tire. I’m still getting good performance from these tires. Still quiet and wet traction is good. Tread wear is normal.

I run the Continentals in 265-75-16 and give them the same rating.377ED656-2C3D-46DC-8B5D-B9F50903ACBF.jpg

Yup, I believe I had made up my mind on these. I was dead set or getting the wild peak AT3's but these seem like the perfect all-around tire.
