Got mine installed. Super easy. Remove the 4 bolts. Drop safe. Reinstall the 4 bolts.

    Part #
    PT971-35241

ordered from local dealers website as they sell at cost. Although they recently increased the price.

Toyota console safe is the way to go for the 24 models. I use a Lock'er Down in my older model that I love, but this one from Toyota is better priced and fits to a T perfectly from Toyota.

My only gripe is the lid is pretty heavy so you have to walk it down to close it or it will slam.

Is there ANY space for a pen, chapstick, single pack hand wipes, eyeliner, lipstick, etc between the top of safe and console lid? Ya know the EDC items of a rugged overlander?

I edited my og post. Meant about the space between the top of safe and console lid.

It's an ok addition IF you store firearms or valuables in your truck. For me it became such a PIA to have to open 2 lids just to get to everyday stuff like ink pens, chap stick, etc. Especially if you actually use the lock. Trying to drive while dialing in the combination is extremely dangerous so you leave it unlocked for convenience. Then you forget to lock it when you really need it locked.

    I ended up removing mine.

The plastic underside of the armrest and the lock mechanism is the problem. You can get pens, chapstick, access cards on top of the safe but you have to get them in just the right spot or it won't shut. The other bummer is you have to remove all that crap you threw on top to open the safe lid then put it back. Unless you really need to secure valuables in your cab I would think twice about dropping $250 for one.

Underside of lid and lock height. Lock takes up a small section closest to the driver. Magnets on the lid would work for small items.

Does the protruding portion of the lock sit in the hollowed out arm rest?

There are accessories to hold items up there, but the lock would seem to interfere that type of accessory.

I need one. It says it's only for non-hybrid only. This is something that I really liked on my 3G

I have a hybrid. Might want to check with your dealership parts person.
