1st let me say I am a Tacomaholic, having had a 12, 15, 19 and a 22. Like an "IDIOT" i traded my 22 in on a 25 Honda CRV. There is Nothing wrong with the CRV, but I hate it, as I've learned I am a truck guy
So, question: Do you folks feel Toyota has the past problems fixed ....... for the release of the 2025 Tacoma????

If so, then, I must struggle with spending the MONEY to cover the difference in the sale of the 25 CRV and the cost of the 25 Tacoma:confused::eek::crapstorm:

First of all the “problems” aren’t any different then any other new model and year so yes the next year will be better just like the 26 will be better then the 25 and so on. You could just wait forever.

Second the complainers like EVERYWHERE WITH ANYTHING get most of the air time so you need to take that with a grain of salt. There are thousands like me that love this thing, have had zero issues and would even recommend why wait and just go get yourself a deal on a remaining 24. No need to wait.

I was thinking about this the other day, this seems to have been a fairly quiet launch all things considered. The biggest issue seems to have been the transmission TSB if I remember right. The Taco launch has gone WAY better that the Tundra.

Some people blew out a bump stop, but that issue seems to have quieted down too.

Honestly I think the 25s should be good. Heck, maybe even find a good deal on a 24 if there are some still around.

Via the stats, math and industry, it's just not been a problematic new vehicle. A few early issues have been worked out. The 2025 looks pretty much unchanged. At my first oil change dealer service staff said a lot have been sold now and nothing stands out as a problematic new model.

Beyond that I can't help. My ownership is a long bed bought for work, tasks, and we have a nice AWD station wagon to complement it. I would not want to be without a car or something car like. We did a lot of testing including short beds for their being more available. For all their popularity no way would I want one. They can't carry what our minivan or even the kids' Outbacks with seat down, can't ride as well, can't be as efficient however the short wheelbase pickups would be better than mine for an off road hobbyist. As 5th pickup owned personally plus have had them for work I must say they are very civil and comfy for a pickup. They have safety ratings few have.

CRV are very good but from service loaners at the Euro/Acura/Honda dealer the Acura and VW CarUV types are definitely more sporty or fun than CRV. If you just don't like the CRV maybe you'll preserve most value if a dealer has Honda and one of those franchises???

It is hard to know someone else's needs and values but in this case @ace_10 graphic comes to mind and for what I do so does the limited utility of a short bed pickup. In my period of having the Sienna and no pickup or 4x4 it repeated in work I do that the Sienna carried stuff that associates with short bed pickups could not. In lots of pickup testing the long bed gen 4 just ride and handle better from that wheelbase difference.

My opinion of the 4G hasn't changed since the release and there was not any documented problems at that time. I doubt if waiting is a bad idea, do you need or want a new truck?

The amount of people so mad that fourth gen owners had the gall to buy trucks with their own money is amazing.

    Yes.

The parts in the first 2025 will be the same parts as in the last 2024. Toyota fixes issues as they develop.

No, more like rolling negative equity from a brand new car into another brand new car.
    Rinse and repeat.
    It's a vicious cycle.

I didn't pay 80K for a halo trim. You don't have to either. If someone else pays 80K, no big deal to me. Don't care.

When a dealer fixes a vehicle under warranty, Toyota knows of it. When they see trends, they fix the problem. They would be stupid if they had not yet addressed it.

If you liked the previous Tacomas, you won’t be disappointed. Pay that “IDIOT” tax there seems to be inventory out there to choose from and too negotiate a good deal…
