when buying parts, they just say for left or right but never clarify if that's sitting in vehicle or standing in front of it which is backwards so is a left strut for the drivers side or passengers side? because they are different parts

im assuming, and it appears that left always means drivers side, but before going through all that work based solely on a best guess, can anyone guarantee that a left strut goes on drivers side?

the ones I got are complete assemblies so they are side specific and just say left or right with no passenger driver side designations

    Check out my build
It's always from a passenger's point of view.
So left is the driver's side in North America.

thanks, I can install it now.

I always like to double check stuff so I only do a job once and do it the right way

I havent looked into it yet but how can you tell which strut is which? I was given a set of trd or bilsteins from a family friend and dont know which one was on which side. It is the springs and shocks all still assembled.

Usually, if they are already assembled, and have any sort of lift on them, there will be a spacer inside the drivers side strut for the drivers sag.

mine are new in boxes that say left and right

as I understand it the oems and some aftermarkets have different colored paint code marks on the springs to guide you, if not there should be a difference in model number or letter or something
