I was thinking of installing Kicker KSS269 6x9" component speaker. In my 2022 Tacoma SR5 access cab. I was wondering what steps I need to install. Do I need a bass blocker or how to install inline crossover that is supplied with speaker. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What else are you installing with it, and are you bypassing the dash tweeter, using the dash tweeter, or using both tweeters?

I wouldnt go K series without an amp, but that's just me.

You can do better. That component setup uses a woofer and a midrange, both with paper cones. The result will be better than stock, but for similar money you would probably be better-off with the 47KSS6904 component setup because it has its silk tweeters. That setup is also slightly less power hungry than the KSS269 setup. I believe it comes with tweeter mounting brackets that will match up to your factory mounts. You can pre-set the crossover and hide it between your door and door panel if you want a factory look. Depending on what you want to spend, you can do much better. Lots of folks on this forum like Focals, I am partial to Morels....but they are out of my budget.

If memory serves there's a stock crossover just under the dash tweeter. You'll have to either bypass that by running all new wire or just wire it to stock and not use the included crossover.

The factory wiring for the dash and door speakers might make this difficult. If there is room to hide the crossovers in the dash under the dash speakers it could work. You will notice that the dash speakers each have a connector with four wires. Two are input wires from the head unit, the other two go to the speakers in the front doors. You could connect the factory wires from the head unit to the inputs on the crossover, run jumper wires from the tweeter outputs on the crossover to the dash speakers, then connect the factory output wires to the door speakers to the crossover connections for the woofers.

Edit. It looks like the KSS269 comes with passive inline crossovers. They are small and should fit fine. Assuming they are just capacitors, just put one inline on the (+) wire of each speaker. If they are capacitors, they won't be polarized, you can't put them in backwards. The KSS6904's come with a crossover that would require more room.

OP - did you put these in? I'm thinking about using the same 47KSS6904 Kicker component setup but i'm lost on the "crossover" thing.
Can i just put the new tweeters in the dash and the speakers in the door using the same connectors (no crossover, no splicing)?

I got these but looks like they are unavailable

THESE are available from another vendor.

Basically the tweeter is in series with the speaker in the door so when you unhook the tweeter you won't get any sound from the door speaker.

The link to the vendor I linked has a video and all the information you need to install aftermarket components.

You may need different brackets for the tweeters too. I used these, but depending on your tweeter size you may need a different size.
