Coloring tire letters with tire markers

I’m thinking of making my BFG KO2’s have white lettering. Has anyone used the tire paint markers to do this and how did it turn out?

 

I’m not ready for new tires for awhile so I thought I’d give it a try ‍♂️

 

Have you checked to see if you have raised white lettering on the inside? A lot of the time shops will mount them this way instead of stocking RWL and non-RWL versions of the same tire.

 

They don’t have white lettering on the other side

 

It won't last and will wear out quickly !!!

I did this to a set of MT Drag radials and it lasted a few months before the painted lettering was faded and worn

I think the BFG KO2 was like $140!

 

My BFG KO2 had white lettering which I cleaned up today. I added red marker to the “KO2” and “Baja champion”. I love it.. not sure how it’ll hold up. For reference here’s white letters on my cement rig.

 

What size are you running? I don't think I've seen BFG AT KO or KO2 tires that didn't have raised white lettering on one side. My 235/85-16s do, both KO on Gen 1 and KO2 on Gen 2.

 

My first pair had white lettering on one side but this pair doesn’t and I didn’t care because I paid $160 per tire for 285’s

 

The BFG website states the KO2s in (1) LT285/75R16/E 126/123R, (2) LT285/70R17/C 116/113Q, and (3) LT285/70R17/E 121/118R are all raised white letter tire. The only 285 section tire with raised black letters is LT285/75R17/E 121/118S. That's probably your size, yes?

TBH, I'd probably try to find new tires, or bide your time until your next boots for the truck. Seems like the effort v results for making raised white letters isn't worth it.
