took the car to one of those places that says they "buy any car." They quoted me a price (a fair price too) and said bring it in. They ran some type of an OBD scan and said it had a stored DTC code. They proceeded offered me a grand less than quoted. I told them to pound sand and walked away. I have a ScanGage II and checked it when I got home and found zero stored DTC's, or any other DTC for that matter. I then took it to the emission site and got an emission test done - which it passed with flying colors and per their report had zero codes. Went home and posted it on Neighborhood FB - sold it in one hour for market retail. Beware - these places that say they will buy your car DO NOT pay what they initially offer. They charge a document fee - $300 to $600 (amount not disclosed in their offer) and then tell you your vehicle has a DTC. All a scam to get you to take less so they get more. Do yourself a favor - just go get the emission test (needed to sell and the seller's responsibility) and post it on Neighborhood FB.

Mine is too happy. Fucking spreads everywhere.

But it requires no water and I have a shitload of bees and hummingbirds that swarm it and the salvia.

I think I just sold my bike on Marketplace. First ad ever on there. Dude will be back tomorrow with the cash. :D That was after 3 days. Craigslist just keeps sending the scams.

disclaimer - I am not on FB. As for CL when posting items for sale I simply add that any email response to the ad include the keyword/phrase from the posting. If the keyword/phrase does not appear in the response then the email is deleted.

2001 HD Dyna Wide Glide. Sold in 3 days, if he comes back tomorrow...:fingerscrossed:
This was my first experience with Marketplace, the guy's facebook was just started this year, so i was sketched at first, because he asked the same "is this still available" (that button needs to go away)
But he didn't ask any stupid questions, wanted to see it right away, and showed up early today.
Tried to talk me down, I stood firm as I could see he was drooling over the bike. He eventually agreed upon the asking price. I made a small profit on this bike and got to ride it for a bit. :D

I am concerned about this guy, he looked the part with a full biker beard, dreads and a half shaven head, looked like he worked in construction. Looked to be in his 30's.
It's his first bike, after riding exclusively dirt bikes, that belong to his father in law.... He himself said he was a bit nervous to ride it.
The Dyna is a big block cruiser engine sitting on a sparse frame with not much else, it's really quick. This one is bored and has a mild set of cams in her. I hit 70, in under two blocks, 2nd gear, on the way home from gassing it up today. That's the main reason for it to go away, before license gets revoked...:anonymous:
I gotta go thru 6 gears on my X300 Versys, to achieve 55, in 3-4 blocks. Perfect.

This coming weekend i'll b checking out a wrecked 3rd gen 4runner. the t4r runs and drives but is not adviseable to drive due to rad issues. I am trying to decide which vehicle to use to tow the t4r back to EVG from littleton. The 100 series land cruiser with disc brakes or the 2018 taco w/tow package. Will probably need to use a tow dolly as well. Any thoughts?

Definitely the Land Cruiser. Do you have a brake controller on either of them?

When I had my Hilux up for sale I had over 250+ messages.. mostly "is this still available" followed by a 3k offer or trade. Ended up selling to a dude on his way back to Louisiana. Shortly after a RHD collector hit me up just a day too late :(

U-haul auto transport and "Toy Hauler" trailers have surge brakes. Might be worth the upgrade over a dolly depending on your tow capacity and route.

EDIT: On closer inspection, the tow dollies also have surge brakes.
