Aurora will pay you to do it also. Just have to make the plans and get approval for it. Been meaning to do that for a while. I think it was up to $3k(?)

There’s a conservation entity that will subsidize the removal of my sod but it would still come out to $700 or so.

Im seriously contemplating it though. I’m getting older and shit like this isn’t as easy peasy any more.

I don't understand the "removal" of sod. Is it going to be reused? It's a weed that grows uniform and is pleasing to the eye.
Just dig it under, or rototill it, cover it with black plastic and kill it, Roundup that shit, etc....Pour concrete over it and that pretty much stops it.
I simply laid down the flag stones for my walkway over the grass and never gave it a second thought. They self leveled over a couple weeks.

    *yells at clouds*

I don’t want to spray vinegar or round up because I do want to grow other things in its place.

I have 6” edging around the sod and it still grows roots under it and spreads everywhere. I just want to get rid of it entirely by sod cutting/digging it out to the appropriate depth.

I don’t know if this would work but I’m also considering laying heavy black plastic over it, limiting it to zero sunlight and hopefully hellish temperatures that kills the root system.

Also in order for it to grow uniformly and remain pleasing to the eye it costs me around $300 in water per summer month. F that. Not to mention the mowing, edging, fertilizing, etc.

Ornamental grass is the stupidest crop we grow in this country.

You talking like Kentucky bluegrass or ornamental grasses like Blue Blue Stem, Karl Foerster, etc?

I have a few of the latter and love them. No water once they’re established after the first year.

Mainly irrigated ones, but it includes the ones that waste energy (gas or battery) for mowers to constantly be cutting them for purely visual appeal.

The latter two are great, and I see them in xeriscaped landscapes. Most lawns are just too thirsty for this area.

I just want to be done.
So I sold my truck back in 2022. I built it myself with a lot of love and care. I had a baby on the way and sold it because I needed the money. I tracked the current owner to castle rock, CO. If you’re on here and see this please let me know if you be interested in selling the truck! 2017 DCSB TRD OR 6MT

It’s a long shot but worth the shot.

The real bidding starts around 12:20 pm mountain time Tuesday, about 10 minutes before close of auction. BAT extends the close by 2 minutes if a bid occurs within the last two minutes of close to avoid sniping. Going once, going twice …

I will be planting some bushes and I don’t want grass growing around them. Also I want to change the slope so water flows away from the patio.

Xeriscaped our back yard two years ago. Had enough of watering grass that no longer wanted to live. Anything that needs watering gets it via drip system. Water bill is now 1/3 what it use to be. No mowing. Very little maintenance. Absolutely love it.
