Got these fender flares the other day and I was wondering if I could take them to the Toyota dealership and have them painted or get dupli-color and do it myself... don’t really know what to do. What would y’all do?

What kind of flares are they? You’re better off going to a paint shop over the dealership.

They are knock off bushwackers I got the cheap ones because I didn’t know if I would like the look on my truck. I’ve seen a few with the fender flares and like the look but I don’t have a lift yet so not sure how they will look. Thanks for the input and I will price some paint shops in my area

Don’t have pics at the moment but I will be sure to post when the job is done. It’s just outrageous to pay $400 for something I might decide to take off later so I got some off eBay

I would buy the matching duplicolor paint and paint them myself. I suck at painting but I’m sure there are internet videos that teach proper technique.

It all depends on the color of your truck. Some colors are easier to match than others with metal flake arguably the most difficult.

If you don't know what to do then don't paint them yourself, get a reputable body shop to paint them. Dupli color isn't the best.

I got these trail ridge pocket flares and they look identical to the bushwackers and the quality and fit is great. Color paint them looks cleaner IMO

I've have a paint shop manager tell me they won't paint the bare black after market fender flairs. They will paint over the original painted ones though.

I have faux bushwackers duplicolor matched. Pictured here they are a good look for the Tacoma.
