Recently been looking for travel trailers to full time in. Initially was pretty attached to the Sonoma 1900MB for its mountain package, including improved insulation, heated and enclosed underbelly, and what forest river advertises as factory "winterization if unit." But as I've continued to look around it seems like there are a handful of options with heated and enclosed under bellies, and though I would probably be able to make it work by keeping cargo light the 1900MB is a bit heavy for the taco.

Was hoping to see if anyone could suggest any trailers that are fully functional in cold weather (including running water) and can be pulled by the taco.

Thank you to all who read / reply

Winter in a trailer is doable anywhere if you're at a campground with full hookups. Shore power keeps the batteries charged, which keeps the tank heaters going. Enclosed underbelly is usually fine without heaters, takes a long time for water to freeze when the tank and hoses are insulated. Any hoses exposed to air freeze pretty quick.

You run the water heater on shore power, the fridge on shore power, can use various 115v heaters inside. Use the campground city water hookup.

A campground even with a GoodSam discount you're looking at $25 per night.

Offgrid, look for a trailer with dual LP tanks, dual batteries and solar. Winter offgrid you'll be refilling both LP tanks weekly running the furnace, fridge, stove, water heater. Possibly more often.

And probably a good idea to carry a 2kW generator. I use either a Honda or Yamaha converted to LP.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Just google “ four season travel trailers”. A couple great ones off the top of my head are: Bigfoot, Oliver and Airstream. But, a true four season trailer isn’t cheap.

Agreed with Aquatic. A good four season trailer is gonna be spendy. Personally I'd stay away from any Forest River product. We've had a couple and the fit and finish seems subpar even for the general RV industry. It feels like half of their trailers are built on a Friday before a holiday.

Big thanks to all of you!

As I've been reading up more I've seen a lot of complaints on forest river products, which is especially concerning since I plan to full time. I did find Oliver and bigfoot but they are pricey.

Currently looking more into escape 21. No enclosed underbelly, but underside is fully insulated in foam. Also has dual pane windows, tank heaters, and improved insulation in walls and ceiling, along with good feedback in terms of build quality and service.

I have a Lance and we love ours. All the tanks are heated and belly is closed in.

1995. Love the trailer, love my truck.. Want to trade my wife's car on a full size truck. she never drives. Weights are not as advertised. This has just about every option. Door says 4608, it ain't. Everything in it, ready to go, a little over 5200. Its a lot. Going out of Denver , tunnels, Vail, Monarch going to CB, Berthoud, they all suck big ...... oh and head winds. Not enough power in the right spot. A re-gear would help, but, not to mention the suspension upgrades. Your in a bad spot. wouldn't want to get rid of either one. I drove a extended 1 ton van with no window for almost 20 years, so I like my truck, fits me. Don't want a full size for ED.

Rolfe. He was my sons dog so of course he's the favorite.

This is the reason we went big as I "thought" we could go. Its also the reason we need a bigger truck for long trips. 3 monstrous toddlers that can get kinda rowdy at time. The 1995 seems small once in a while. WHAT WERE WE THINKING.
From everything I've read and my experiences with the trailer and Lance they are better, quality than most.
Lance owners of america is a good site.

That explains the massive dog beds in the trailer! LOL.

They have graduated to the dinette bed. We make it, cover with a blanket and everyone is happier. Bad thing about letting them on the bed, in the middle of the night, EVERYONE, is comfy, well not my wife and I, so the dinette has worked VERY well.

    :rofl::rofl:

How is it in the snow. We want to get the 1995 for skiing in the winter and National Parks and Mtb in the summer.

Blower fan uses a lot of power/batteries. Heating prosses can be a little on the noisy side. In the posses of getting all the parts together for this summers camping. 3 battle born batteries, remove the 2 lead and add anther 560 watts of panel on the roof. Should give me 45 min of A/C in the summer. The biggest thing I've experienced in winter is with the small propane tanks, you can suck all the gas out of the tops and its to cold to boil and make more fast enough. It has done that twice at bellow 10 F with no supplemental heat. Could have let it get colder so maybe that wouldn't have happen if not for my wussy dogs. :) Yes it does great in snow, the 4 times we have been in it, just crack some windows.

I was looking at one of these as a cold weather option. But they use electricity. It's all a tradeoff. Used them at my last job to keep totes of NaOH from becoming gel at 60 F.
    https://www.powerblanket.com/products/propane-tank-heaters/

Someone else makes tank heaters for water/black/grey too but those are about $70 each. Cheaper.
