In case you don’t know, the truck comes with a cold air intake from the factory.

TRD intake is an oiled filter which is more work/maintenance. I've run both the HPS intake tube and AFE Momentum GT intake, the HPSgave more low end power/torqueand the AFE gave more top end. I also get about 1mpg better with AFE. Neither will do much on their own aside from a little better throttle response, but compliment exhaust and tune nicely.

If you want an aftermarket CAI; S&B, TRD, Injen are all great enclosed air filter setups.
Stay away from all open air filter CAIs.
Or build your own, I use a Green Filter, TRD Intake Accellerator, and the HPS intake tube.

The best bang for your cash is a tune, do that first!

I found an AFE intake w/ the front scoop off Facebook for $100. For that price it’s totally worth the noise it makes. No change in power/mpg.

I would do an intake over an exhaust just for the noise.

Noted thanks for the tips. I’ll go with the enclosed option as well as and exhaust upgrade. Tune up is a great idea, finding the truck is lagging a bit off the take off

CAI and/or exhaust will not give noticeable performance improvements over the factory installed system no matter what brand you select. What ever benefit might be realized is offset by the ECU controlling gas mixture and all those sort of things. That said, I've got both the TRD CAI and exhaust. I like the sounds and the extra longevity of the air filter. Looks cool too.

You can add one of those airaid helix throttle body spacers to for more noise...makes your engine should like its got a small super charger.....again no power gain, but to some the noise is priceless.
