Hello everyone, for a while I kept having P0456 error code popping up of a small leak. The suggested fix was to fix the EGR vacuum solenoid, or go through the entire emissions system checking anything and everything. However, after a mechanic noticed my gas cap gasket was looking bad, I decided to buy a new one and replace the old. And would you know it, the P0456 code went away, check engine light is off, and it's been off for almost a year now. So just thought I would let everyone know about this who may be experiencing the same issue. Even if you're not showing a code, maybe change out that gasket or a new cap just to be on the safe side. They're cheap. Have a good one.

I know that the first item on the "Trouble Areas" list is the fuel cap gasket...

Oh and just so people aren't running around looking for the EGR.
There is no EGR Valve on the 1GR-FE or the 2TR-FE Engine.

A new gas cap is often a good first step when addressing evap codes

I had the same issue a year ago and I just cleaned the gas cap and filler area and it created a better seal and the code went away
