Hi guys, id appreciate any help you'd be willing to share

my CEL came on, truck is throwing codes
P2442 (valve stuck open in secondary air system)
    P1604 (startability malfunction)
    c1241 (low battery positive voltage)

I just cleared the codes but haven't driven yet to see if the light comes back

Starts up and drives normally with no noticeable issue. Its a '12 with 85k, 4.0. I just did an oil change myself 3 days ago and put in a bottle of seafoam. I inspected but didn't change the air filter. I drove 25 miles since the oil change til the light came on.

I did a drain/fill on my tranny for the first time ever at the same time. I jumped pins 4 and 13 of the OBD per instructions on this forum to enter temp check mode to check the tranny fluid level. Wondering if that could be an issue with these codes showing up right afterwards?

    Thanks for any advice

    Yeah....definitely a known issue on '12 4.0 models.

Not sure about the battery charging issue. Probably not related to the secondary air injection problem

    DTCC1241/41 Low Battery Positive Voltage

    DTC Detecting Conditions
    DESCRIPTION

If there is a problem with the brake actuator (skid control ECU) power supply circuit, the skid control ECU outputs a DTC and prohibits operation under the fail safe function. If the voltage supplied to the IG1 terminal is not within the DTC detection threshold due to malfunctions in parts such as the battery or alternator circuit, this DTC is stored.

    • At vehicle speed of 2 mph (3 km/h) or more, voltage at IG1 terminal remains at 9.5 V or less for 10 seconds or more.
    • When solenoid relay ON, voltage at IG1 terminal 0.5 V or less, and contact of relay OFF for 0.2 seconds or more.
    • When voltage at IG1 terminal 9.5 V or less, voltage of speed sensor power supply decreases for 60 seconds or more.

    Trouble Area:

    •Battery
    •Charging system
    •Power source circuit

Check the IG1 NO. 2 fuse. Less than 1 Ohm.

Update: I drove 400 mi after I cleared the code with normal performance, and yesterday the light came back on after a fill up at the gas station. This time I lost power driving up hill and I now have codes 2442 and 2440. I am going to the stealership tomorrow with the extended warranty information in hand. I'll update the thread to let you know what Toyota says.

Toyota dealership is covering it under the extended warranty. :) I didn't have to haggle at all. they need to order the part so hopefully I'll be back on the road in 2 days.

I'll say it's great to own a problem-free vehicle for 8 years and then have the company stand behind the product when this issue came up.
