Don’t know how to weld, but some of their bumpers seem to be pretty clean design. A nice ready to go front bumper without huge shipping costs are key.

 

Their kits are top notch; absolutely no fitment work needed on the user end.

Just tack, then weld it up.

 

My fear is getting all the lines and angles right. Seems daunting. 5’ later, other side of the truck, 1/4” is visible when compared to body lines. I really want their rear bumper though

 

You weld the rear for me if I buy the DIY

Continental US:
The shipping cost for one kit is $139 and a rear bumper kit with a swing out carrier added to it (single or dual) counts as a single kit and costs $190

Canada:
Local pickup from our Delta facility is a very popular option. Otherwise, the shipping cost for one kit is $120CAD and a rear bumper kit with a swing out carrier added to it (single or dual) counts as a single kit and costs $175CAD. For provinces outside of BC, each kit ships for $160CAD and a rear bumper kit with swing out carrier (single or dual) ships for $225CAD

 

So just 2hrs worth of labor right

 

I'm here in the lower mainland, interested in the bumpers but don't know how to weld--do ya'll have someone in house who can weld it for an extra charge? Do you have any built bumpers available (returns/defects/warranties)?

I am not affiliated with Coastal so I can not answer about the defect bumpers. However, according to their website they do not offer welding services but do have a list of recommended shops in the lower mainland.

 

Who are you in contact with exactly and how will they know exactly who's buying in?

People can commit only to fall out shortly after or vice versa.

You're also new here and came in without providing any real details.

 

Maybe put a link to the FB group with the details so we can get info first-hand?

I contacted Coastal through their instagram account where they told me step 1 is getting an estimate on order #s. I requested the instructions for the two pictured kits which were sent to me via email by Daniel.

This is a "feeler post" to get a rough estimate on numbers before proceeding with the process. Once we have a numbers estimate we will have an idea of the discount available.

Happy to also outline the typical group buy process for you. I can not confirm this would be exactly the same, but I have heard that this is how Coastal has done them in the past so hopefully it would be a similar process for us.

With enough interest, they will open a discount code for a limited time that we can enter at checkout. This code would probably only work on items for 1st gen Tacomas. Everyone will make their purchases separately and the items will be shipped to everyone's individual addresses.

Obviously, by expressing interest you are by no means committing to a purchase. I recommend everyone research the products, additional charges (ex. tire swingout/hoops/etc.), and shipping costs themselves. The costs I have posted above came directly from the FAQ section of their website. Please not the bumper prices are BASE PRICES.

As expressed earlier, I am not affiliated with Coastal and would not recommend asking a random 23 year old girl on the internet questions concerning products or assembly I wanted to extend the offer to Tacoma World / 1st Gen Tacomas FaceBook page for those who have had their eyes on these for a while.

Hopefully that clears up a bit of confusion. I know a lot is still variable now

I've talked to them via phone on rare occasions and they're a small group; was just curious as to who you were dealing with.

And yes, I've participated in many group buys myself, but again that's good information to share with newcomers.

You should understand how cautious members can and will be when a newcomer with a handful of posts comes in big, attempting to put together a group buy.
