I have a 2004 Tacoma. I realized yesterday my clutch pedal will not come all the way back up on its own. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. When it doesnt it is about 1/4 of an inch from coming all the way back.

    My truck shifts great.

Could this be a weakened spring or a symptom my clutch is going bad?

The video shows me pressing in the clutch releasing, pausing then pulling it back out.

    Hey Tyler!

You already have the clutch pedal bushing link...

But yeah, I'd take the pedal assembly out and see what you can find. Atleast that'll help you troubleshoot. If the clutch pedal bushing is completely gone, I can see it causing a problem 'hanging up' and/or the spring can't fully pivot.

Take some picts and let us know what you see....

    Good Luck!

Check your clutch master cylinder. It could be leaking.

Clutch Pedal sticks sometimes when you are letting the clutch out. I can feel when it happens and I assist it for full return by putting my foot under the pedal and lifting up. Doesnt do it all the time. And brakes work fine.

So I got tired of it and replaced the pedal bushings and spring today. They were worn a little but not bad. The dealer had been in there and left out the pedal shaft main bushing on one side. That was bad but not enough to cause a binding of the pedal against the pedal spring. Looks like a poor design to me

Anyone else had this problem ?

When i fixed mine i found that i was missing a bushing. It seems to be a common problem. Lucky for us its an easy fix.

    Update on the Problem
The Clutch Pedal rebuild did not fix the problem, pedal was hanging up again so I replaced the slave and master cylinders. The pedal has not stuck yet. Got a PM that indicates that replacing the Master Cylinder is the fix. I have replaced both so this should do it
