Clothes Rack

I am trying to figure out how to mount a clothing rack in my extended cab Tacoma. It will be used for vacation trips ect. Has anyone mounted grab handles or anything else to an extended cab Tacoma?

 

Just started looking myself and did a search here. Found your question without any replies.
Have you found a solution?

 

For access cabs, there are two plastic covers in the back seat on the headliner that say "SRS airbags". They are basically just a dummy cover, and they have a bolt inside them to help hold up the headliner. Ill bet you could get a long piece of aluminum flat bar and bend/drill the ends and attach them to these points to use for a clothing rack that goes side to side. Just thinking things through, havent done this myself

 

The little "SRS AIRBAG" plastic button above the door hides a screw. Some people use the screw to mount a bar across. Example: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/overhead-gun-rack.400520/page-2#post-11182615

 

Expandable shower curtain rod between grab handles if they are present back area of access cabs? Just throwing out ideas.

 

Yup. On the Double cab it’s a dummy cover. Thanks I’ll see if I can figure something

@3JOH22A had his 'rack' on, did not seem to help him much.

Not sure if this mod will take off with the off road guys. Might be a mall crawler thing.

 

No grab handles.

 

Of course, anything you mount up there will interfere with curtain airbag deployment. Just a matter of weighing the risks.

 

Yeah, after another longer look I’ll probably utilize those handles. Thanks again to all who responded
