    Hi there,

I bought this Tacoma 2014 base cap 2DR with deployed wheel airbag and bad passenger and driver seatbelt. I replaced the seatbelts and cleared the codes. Then I saw these new codes u0126, B1800. I did a research and most say the last code is clock spring related issue. I bought new clock spring from dealer and installed it.

After installation the codes are gone but the airbag light still on and the horn doesn’t work.

There is one theory that I installed the clock spring incorrectly. And it was the first time that I have done something like that. “Zero experience”. I have not aligned the clock spring the way it should and didn’t mark the steering before removing the it.

Not sure if I messed up the Clock spring, or is there anything else i haven’t done correctly?

Other thing that I noticed, the new clock spring has 2 connector plugs that’s goes in wheel airbag yellow and black but no ground wire. Am I missing the ground wire? Thanks

There is a horn/ground wire to connect along with the two air bag wires. And the air bag wires have center pins that need to be pushed in. The new clock spring could be a bad one, return it for a new one if it still don't work.

Needs to be diagnosed further, but if the SRS light is on, and no codes. It's always the SRS ECU.

Also after any deployment the SRS ECU must be replaced 100% of the time. So 2 signs its ECU.

Thanks to all of you for the feedback!

I got more information from friends

    1. the module has to be fixed as well.
    2. If the clock spring turns one Revolution to the right or left accidentally it will cause issues
    3. The clock spring could be a bad one. I am going to replace it but before that I will fix the module then see what happens. Thanks

I've had many cars come in after being in the body shop asking if I could "reset" the SRS light. I immediately tell them NO because I know the SRS computer , or what Toyota calls the "center airbag assembly" is bad.

As others have said being there was an airbag deployment the Airbag module is likely the cause of the light but have you checked the rest of the horn circuit?
Not much to checking it as it's a very simple circuit.

    Hi there,

I was able to fix the airbag light and the problem was the module. “The yellow small case” under the gear stick. I removed it and had a technician fix it. I am surprised that the original clock spring is fine.

About the horn, I checked the horn harness, it works but the car is missing the ground cable that connects the airbag to clock spring. I created some cable and plugged it on both ends and it worked just fine. I had great experience!!
