So I took my 2011 4x4 Tacoma to the local Toyota dealer for an oil change and tire rotation. As I was driving home I noticed a clicking noise coming from the left front wheel while driving straight. It seem to get louder as I go faster. I reached out to the dealer and still waiting for a call back. BTW, didn’t have a problem prior to this tire rotation.
    Thanks in advance.

you probably have something stuck in the tire; rock, nail or screw. That tire was probably right rear before and you just didn't hear it.

Check the dust shield on your drivers brake. It could've been knocked when they pulled the tire off. Its a simple fix of bending it away from the disk brake slightly.

I second a nail or rock in the tire tread. Definitely would get louder with more rotations

Rock in tire, bent dust shield, or wheel weight contacting the caliper.

    Theick, JAM and NYC taco.
Thank you all for the quick response. I did take the front left wheel off and didn’t notice any rocks or nails. I will check the break dust shield when I get home. Will post results

Hello all, so last night I jacked up the taco and pulled the drivers side wheel. I found the wheel weights had fresh rub marks. For whatever reason, when I had the wheels balanced they stacked the weights on top of each other and it was rubbing on the caliper. Went to Firestone for a wheel alignment and had then balance all 4 wheels. Problemo solved.

Although a year after this conversation was posted this helped me figure out a similar issue on my 2010 Tacoma. Had tires rotated yesterday and immediately driving away i heard a clicking noise that got MUCH louder the faster I went. This morning I pulled my front passenger wheel off and found that a brake clip was repeatedly rubbing against the weights mounted on the inside of my wheel like a mini Price Is Right wheel. Bent the clip in, and worked like a charm! Thank you all!

Trueeeeee. I had some new wheels/tires put on and they stacked the wheel weights and they were rubbing.

I actually just had my tires rotated earlier today and had a similar “clicking” noise as I left the shop in rhythm with the speed I was going. After about 5 or so miles it stopped with no reoccurrence the rest of the way home. I’ll probably take a closer look at them tomorrow just to be sure it’s nothing serious.
