I just bought my Tacoma a few weeks ago and it has these clear bra like pieces on the rear fender and door edge. Are they there from the factory? They have picked up a bit of dirt and want to replace if possible?

    Thanks in advance.

Lol, have fun with that. Did one side last weekend and it was a bitch. The glue is rock hard and only comes up with a heat gun. As soon as you start scraping it off, it hardens again on the panel, your fingers, everywhere. Then it's scrubbing with glue remover, lacquer thinner...

This is one job that once I started, I wished I hadn't. The fender protectors on my truck came off in little bitty pieces. I used heat, a couple of flexable putty knifes and about an hour on each side to remove the old protectors. Then there was the residue of the old glue. Goo B Gone and a fine scratch pad helped here followed by cleaning with alcohol.

I ordered the replacement protectors from here.

I applied them how I apply all my decals, graphics and window tint. Used a spray water bottle with few drops of baby shampoo and a squeegee. Now that they're on I glad I persevered, but what a royal pain.

These are called flare protectors and cost around $25-$30 each. PN 58742-04110 (LH) and 58741-04110 (RH).

They're 3rd gen off road wheels. I picked them up in AZ for $500 when I was there last November. They were mounted on a set of the Goodyear tires. Rims and tires had 16 miles on them. Kept the rims and gave the tires to my youngest son.

Same here. I was 10 minutes into it and really wish I'd stayed in the garage drinking beer.

Yep, I definitely questioned my decision on this one.
