Unbolt it and pull it out carefully. If it won't budge, then leave it in. I've pulled mine out plenty of times with no issues at all, and most likely you wont either :) Cheers!

As long as it has no metal debris attached to it it's fine, there's no need to clean the grease off.

    It's actually pretty clean.

Ain't broke don't fix it. But good observation.

This is one of the reasons Toyota doesn't want people to grease the CV axle splines.

Rumrunners2k, given all the problems people seemed to have had in that other thread I referenced, I'd prefer to not remove it.

Dm93, thanks. Yeah, that was quite a bit of material caked around it when I took it off and the sensor still appeared to be working, so it must not need to be too clean.

Bishop84, my thoughts exactly! Think I'll leave it as is.

    A Q-tip works great:thumbsup:
Another drawback from removing the sensor is the small o-ring.
Mine didn’t look to “good”. So I dabbed some dielectric grease on the o-ring stuck it, then used some RTV around the sensor head. Kind of like caulk. So far, so good, it’s been almost 3 years now.

    :fingerscrossed:
