    Tacoma 1st gen Friends ......

I have a 2002 Tacoma and wanting that Classic Toyota look so i am looking for suggestions on how to get it. Please don't say buy a older truck as this is not going to happen for a few reasons. Where i live this is a OLD truck as cars and trucks usually find their way to the scrap yard around 8-10 years old. The truck looks like $hit due to rusty bumpers, front fenders, and dented box. But the bones of this truck are good and i do plan on returning this to as good as shape as i can get it. It has a 2.5'' billy lift in the front and a extra leaf in the back with 265, 70 -16 tires. It looks high in the pictures as this is just after the billy was installed it has settled now and i do nit notice it anymore. I was thinking a small body lift 2''

I do not hard core off road any of my trucks, woods roads and old rail bed up to the cabin is about the most they will see.

would love to here your suggestions

So the frame is solid then, no rust? What do you mean by "classic Toyota" look? The 1st Gens retain a lot of the look of the older Toyotas from the 80s and 90s. Just trying to better understand what your hoping to gain so we can help you out.

Gonna be hard finding a Manik grille guard considering they went bankrupt in like, 2002.

Want to achieve true classics truck look, OP? Buy a rollbar for the bed.

Before I would go for any particular look I’d fix that rust. And check the frame and mounts especially.

New frame few years ago rust checking every winter. Very little rust on this truck. Work hit the box side with a crane, front fender and bumper are aftermarket from po and rusted really fast. I have had this truck for 8 years ? I bought a new to me 2007 to drive so I can take this one off the road as the winters are not kind here. As for look and feal I want a slightly modified truck that could be put back to stock. Call me weird but I want to register this as a antique one day

    Too few to list.
Just seeing how your front bumper is rusted out, are you sure the frame isn't? I'd tap that frame with a ball peen hammer all over.
