The chin spoiler on the Tacoma has a useful part in saving fuel. I installed one on my OR for that reason. I got it free from someone who took theirs off (Thanks again). I get a little more than 25 miles more per tank. Check out this TFL Truck video when they removed the spoiler on their base RAM. Proof is in their pudding...or RAM if you will. Enjoy! It is good to have real data.

Geez man, you are going to take the word of a bunch of fucking entertainers instead of actually googling the data?
    Here, let me help....

As you can see, the sport and the off road have the same mpg data. One has a spoiler, one does not.

EPA allows all trim levels of a model to use the same mpg claims. That’s most likely the OR an others have the same published numbers.

The real world test data from TFL should always be considered, no matter how much people hate them. Chin spoilers help with aerodynamics by improving airflow undeneath the vehicle, reducing turbulence and reducing drag. The Ram in the test does not look lifted so a chin spoiler wouldn't help much on a lifted vehicle like a Taco.

Because manufacturer gas mileage claims are always super accurate for real world driving…

I have had both sport and off road. No real difference, maybe a few tenths for the sport.

Lol pretty much everyone in stock trim gets 18-21 mpg. It's been tested by every consumer and YouTube channel and hundreds of posts here. The published mpg from Toyota is the same as real world results.
Threads like this lead the no-clue reader down the wrong path.

so you are saying the chin spoiler does make a difference. ;)

I’m sure that may be what you’ve seen but there are also countless people that haven’t gotten that gas mileage either. Car manufacturers are notorious for posting mileage specs under absolute perfect circumstances.

And sure, it makes a difference but not three mpg like those bozos are claiming.

I took the spoiler off and fashioned it into a belt. I didn't notice much on MPGs but my metabolism did drop significantly over the last year.

There's a notable difference on my 2020 sr5 if the spoiler is removed as long as your around 45 mph and up. You'll have more wind noise and lose about 1 mpg if speeds exceed 45 mph.

I have a TRD Sport. I removed the chin spoiler a year ago. I have not seen any difference in fuel economy. Especially not a 25 mile ( 40 km ) loss per tank...

I have a TRD OR - I added the spoiler to try and get better MPGs.

Utter failure. Truck still gets crappy mileage, spoiler or not. Since I like the look it stays, but it's an ornament not a tool.
