I am looking to buy a 2012 or 2013 Tacoma double cab and have a baby on the way. My wife already bought a chicco keyfit 30 infant car seat. Does anyone have any experience on how well the chicco infant seat fits in the 2012/2013 Tacoma double cab?

    Working on it.
No experience with that particular seat but I use a Britax advocate which is a very large bulky rear facing car seat in my 17 and there is plenty of room. I am 6'1 and the seat is mounted in the center of the rear seat. I sit pretty upright when I drive so the front seat doesn't touch the car seat. If you drive in a significantly reclined position you may have issues if you use the center mount position. The best thing you can do is take the seat with you to the dealer/private seller and test fit the seat to make sure it works with your seating position. That is what I did before buying. As much as I like my truck if I could not have used our car seat it would have been a deal breaker and I would be driving something else. Our daughter is almost big enough where we can flip the seat to front facing and that will fit even better. Just remember test it yourself don't rely on us arm chair experts it is too important of a decision. Good luck.

I have a 2016 but have that same Chicco car seat. As long as you put the car seat in the middle then you will room to recline but behind a seat, then you're pretty much hugging the dashboard. Also, makes it a little tight for others to sit back there with the baby with us. Majority of the times, we just take out our full sized SUV.

Take the carseat with you when you go look at the truck to check how it will work for you

Fits great, still need to put the front passenger seat forward a bit, but it is one of the lightest and smallest out three in overall form.

I had that seat in my 05. I'm 6"5' so we originally put it behind the passenger seat. Eventually we put it in the middle and realized the front seats can side all the way back in that set up. The downside is with a slightly lifted truck, getting the baby into the middle breaks the back. We just moved our newer larger car seat back to behind the driver's side as my wife is driving more often now, but I can still get myself in there if I need to.

Yes, good points on position. I tried the middle out of necessity and curiosity once, and it is a back breaker. We default to passenger side mainly for curbside safety.

In the middle its all good. My 1 year old in the middle, 6 year old in the driver side rear in a booster seat, 10 year old behind the passenger seat. All good! We love cruising Central Oregon logging roads.

Have twins that outgrew those seats about a year ago. One behind the passenger or in the middle works fine. Behind the driver will not work unless you're under 5 foot tall.

Hey bro, I got the exact same seat. It fits well on the passenger side, but for me.... the Center works best! I got a 2007 DCLB. You should have no issues!! My truck is lifted on 35's. I'm 6' and have no issues putting my 12 month old in his seat without jumping in the truck! To lock it in the Center I use the left safety hook on the driver side and the right hook from the passenger side. Hope this helps!!

I have that infant seat and have run it in all the back seats. I'm 5'10" and it was fine behind the drivers seat. The larger, convertible car seat is now rear facing behind the drivers seat and the infant seat is behind the passenger seat (2 year old and 4 month old)...I'm looking forward to flipping the seat behind the driver to forward facing later this month to get some room back but this works for the time being.

I used to fit two graco car seats in my 99 EC taco both on pass side, it just barely fit back in 04 through 09

Forward facing is so much easier, that's for sure!
