Cherry bomb on Tacoma

I have a 2004 Tacoma 2.4l and I’m thinking of putting a cherry bomb extreme on it with an exhaust tip. Any thoughts on how this would effect the sound?

 

There will be more of it. Will it be good sound? 100% a matter of opinion.

 

I want a deep rumble but still loud.
I’ve seen a lot of talk of flowmasters 40 series but the cherry bomb is so iconic I was drawn to it first

 

Depends where you live it can be a great way to meet Law Enforcement up close and in person.

Loud exhaust one of the dumbest things I did after being stopped every time I drove the vehicle.

I learned my lesson.

The exhaust being behind you others are impacted more then the driver ever will be.

What exhaust did you install? I live in Arizona where everyone has an exhaust im not too worried about being pulled over haha

 

important thing about glass packs, short is just loud and raspy, long is more mellow, so less annoying, my go to resonator is usually 36in long glass pack muffler cheap and effective.
my first ford had 2 36in long glaspacks, sounded good behind a 351 CID engine.

It’s a 2.4 my guy. You’re looking for v8 sound and you are never going to get that out of a little 4 banger no matter what you do. The sound you get may be very enjoyable to you or a complete disappointment like I said something like this is based on opinion and what sounds good to some sounds like dogshit to others so you will just have to try it and see what you think but understand what your engine is before you do it. A low rumble just isn’t going to happen.

You might see if you can remove the current muffler and run an "open pipe" to get an idea of what it will sound like. As was pointed out, a short glass pack will mellow the open pipe a little bit (still a harsh sound), and a longer glass pack will mellow it out much more. I support his vote for a long glass pack.

Had 2 cherry bombs on my '81. It had the 22r balanced bored and stroked to a 2.7 liter. They were LOUD, but I was younger (32 or so) and enjoyed it.
