Does anyone have experience with the Chrck engine/ Trac off lights coming on. Mine has been coming on and going off sporadically for about a month until a few days ago, when it decided to stay on. Took it to autozone and had them hook the one scanner to it and the recommendation was to replace the instrument cluster. Which is weird because the codes it read were mostly transmission issues(sensors and what not). I’m just curious if anyone has had the same thing happen, and what the fix was. Obd codes were P0500/P0722/P0771

Loose gas cap is the first check.

    If not loose possibly failed.

I've had it 3 times on various Toyotas

    Always start simple.

    What code(s) are you getting?
Without knowing that anything is a pure guess.

All the codes OP posted deal with the transmission and the speed sensor. The speed sensor would be the first thing to check.

If I were to guess, I’d say it’s the output shaft speed sensor.
About all you can do is check resistance unless you have a scope.

    Does your speedometer work?

P0722 I went wheeling and ther were a a lot of sticks and old tree stumps. I think I tripped one of the wires going in to a sensor. Checking tomorrow. Same symptoms, A-teak light on and check engine and won’t shift into OD (5th) in auto

Yea that code is set when no speed signal is detected from the output speed sensor (SP2 on the rear of the transmission housing).
Since it sounds like you may have pulled a wire off I'd inspect the wiring closely.
