Get back up to snuff cuz it wasn't maintained. I got xm radio in it.
The check engine lite came on, on my 95 tacoma last friday; today I hooked up a scanner today and got the code: P0170 fuel trim bank 1. I got terrible mileage friday and then saturday and sunday. So I cleaned out the mass air flow sensor, made sure ALL vacuum hoses were connected, and blew out the air filter. Light is still on. It starts and runs fine. I have not looked at/for the o2 sensor yet, however. Where is the o2 sensor on the 95 tacoma? What else could it be?
    Thanks!!

:) Hi Jake, sorry about your problem. Your code is "Fuel trim malfunction (bank 1) " , so this means your problem is likely to be your O2 sensor on your driver's side of the engine, and it is the O2 sensor that is up in front of the catalytic convertor. You need to spray some penetrant on the 2 bolts that hold the O2 sensor in to help get them out. You seem to be a person who does his own repairs, so you may want to order a O2 sensor that is universal and not the pre wired type for your Taco. You will save around 30 bucks and it is not hard to re wire the new sensor with your old wires. I have used the Bosch universal O2 sensors and they include a very complete kit for wiring the sensor to your old wires from your original sensor. Good Luck.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I would stick with OEM O2 sensors if I were you. The Denso part number is 2344161 and it's about $60 and there is no need to wire anything. It's plug~n~play. The Bosch equivalent is $62.

These trucks are finicky when it comes to O2 sensors

Thanks for the previous post regarding the P0170. Just wanted to let you know that I had the light come on repeatedly after turning it off with a scanner. I finally cleaned the mass air flow sensor with an approved cleaner and it took care of the problem. It has been over a month and the light has not came back on. Thanks for suggesting this. It worked for me. Once the light comes on you will need to use a scanner available at most parts stores to turn the light off but to keep it off you have to fix the problem
