    Howdy fellas,

Was looking at purchasing a DiamondBack SE (or whatever their cheapest model is) and was curious if anyone knew the cheapest way to purchase it. I would be okay with used but haven’t found anyone selling theirs. My truck is a 2020 DCSB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Used are hard to come by but that's your cheapest route. I paid $800 for mine. Even new they are well worth the price of admission.

It's great, I had a camper shell before this for years, but once I added the RTT it was just too tall. I still prefer the campershell given a choice, but the Diamondback is great for my current usage. There is a big DB modification thread you should check out once you get yours installed.

I recently purchased a DB, I like it but feel it is overpriced. Only issue so far is the locks all freeze up, wish there was a rubber cover for the locks available.

I love it, and having the space between the cover and RTT is really nice too. More pics.

New to the site and just picked up my new to me 2019 SR5, and I was pricing out a Diamondback SE from a Canadian Distributor. Hold on to your beer... $2195 Cdn plus $300 shipping!

Not right now for me, although they look incredible and would do exactly what I need, and I'm normally a buy once, cry once kind of guy...
but I don't think it's in the cards at this juncture.

Have you put some wd-40 in it? The 'wd' stands for water displacement. Use the the little straw to spray oil into the lock cylinder and I doubt you'll have a problem.

Not much. Are you implying that soaking the lock internals doesn't work where you are?

Correct, do you have a DB? Are you familiar with the locking latch? My brand spanking new DB froze up first snow/ice couple days after I installed it. I do not want to have to deal with this when I know there is a better way. Other manufacturers make rubber boots for there lock latches for that reason and they work really well.

DB if you read these threads please make some rubber boots that completely cover the lock latch!

Not yet. My DB arrived at the shipping terminal last night. I should get it early this week.

Enjoy, It's a solid buy once cry once product. DB seems to make improvements and I would not be surprised in the future if they come out with rubber boots or redesign their locks again.

They are severely overpriced with huge profit margin but also the leading product in their class (tonneaus) with no competitor so they can pull it off. Eventually some clever company will realize there is room for competition and build one for 3/4 of the price like they have started doing for popular bed racks, roof racks, etc...
